More pics please! I like them.

You jumped off that pier? Why am I not surprised?

Several times. It was illegal to do so. We did it anyway. The jump wasn't scary. The swim back to shore always was. Kinda creepy, swimming next to those pylons. Then hoping the cops didn't see us. Good times... Good times. Also, the cliffs at La Jolla, Huntington pier, Laguna pier, Santa Monica pier... Anything high with water under it. I was a bit of an adrenaline junky way back when.

Keep the pics coming. I will try not to hijack the thread with my old stories.

You are not hijacking anything. Likely making this more interesting.

Oh I can contribute lots of "interesting stories" on the area but most everyone (including myself) would prefer your story and photos.

Well, chime in with some stories when you want, because I'm running out of things to say and photos to post.

Like I said, we pretty much walked the beach and boardwalk , had some pretty good and reasonably priced food and sat on our balcony.

Pam keeping an eye on me while roaming the beach

Someone else with a good meal.

the boardwalk

San Diego, like much of southern California has a sizable population of the homeless and down and out. They were not at all intrusive. This gentleman staked out a good spot.

I prefer not to work too hard while enjoying a beverage

The pier where our resident wacko surfer dude would jump from.

While at breakfast on Sunday we talked about maybe getting out and doing one thing other than hanging out. We chose the San Diego Zoo. The zoo there is probably the nicest in the country and is generally considered an all day event. I had not been to a zoo in a long time and I was reminded why. I'm not crazy about them so we stayed for a little over two hours then left.

After we left we stopped at Sunset Cliffs park, then stopped for a fast food dinner at In and Out and spent the rest of our last evening relaxing in our room.

Great pics and commentary!
With time at a premium, Pam and I get back to Playa and Caribbean beaches anytime we vacation. The water is so much nicer than the Pacific. But San Diego looks pretty. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Coming to Playa! I also am a big fan of the warm Caribbean waters, but I also really enjoy the Pacific beaches because they are great for walking, and we love long walks on the beach.

Love your pics Bruce! Thanks! (I keep thinking that Playa's beach "cliffs" even at their worst, were nothing compared to that one!)
