Aero-Mexico

Am I crazy for thinking of flying from Dallas to Mexico City to Cancun on Aero Mexico to save about $400?

Anyone on here flown Aero Mexico or flown through Mexico City??

We have flown into Mexico City on United and onto to Merida on AeroMexico.

Should be no problem if you have enough time to get through customs and immigration in Mexico City - arriving in Cancun will be like arriving on a domestic flight - no immigration, no customs.

Flight should arrive in Mexico City and depart to Cancun in the same terminal, which is, I believe, Terminal 2.

Aeromexico is fine especially when it saves you some money. I've flown from JFK-CUN my last two trips to Mexico. I don't like their boarding system window/ middle and aisle boarding last because all the bulk head is taken up for the aisle person.

My personal opinion is that booking a flight with a layover when traveling the rather short distance from Dallas to Cancun is rather crazy, regardless of the savings. But that would be if I were spending my money. If it works for you, that's all that matters!

Really Crazy.

We just bought united out of YVR (Vancouver Canada) 405.00 all fees n taxes in. It's more expensive to fly Dallas CUN?

Thats a first, flights are so high from Canada to anywhere, I am surprised on the high cost out of Dallas.

Thinking out loud...if you're from the OKC area and are going to book a flight with a layover, why not just leave from OKC and use Southwest?

Question AeroMexico

I noticed this older post about Aero Mexico & hoped to get some updated insight. We considering flying Aero Mexico for the first time. The incentive is their non-stop flight from KC, MO(MCI) to Cancun. Would anyone have any current pros/cons to offer? We're looking to travel in Feb '16.

Thanks in advance.

The only con is that is a charter flight so on the off chance that there's some kind of aircraft issue that would cause a cancellation or a significant delay, they will not re accommodate you on another airline. But I've had plenty of clients on that charter and no issues to date.

I flew non-stop CUN to MSP via Aeromexico/Delta and it was one my best travel days ever. Free checked bag, non-stop....it was awesome. And I hate travel days.

But you flew on Delta metal, Aeromexico only ticketed your reservation, correct? (they are code share partners)

Hello Shammy, great advise. We have traveled the Frontier non-stop charter in the past & not had any problems. Hopefully, it will be the same with Aero Mexico.
Thanks
