The rotating "eco/farmer's" markets on the schedule Susie posted now feature a local purveyor of cheeses and charcuterie, called Feed Me Playa.

I don't believe they have a storefront now, selling only at the various eco markets, listed on the calendar Susie posted, or by private contact (you can find their contact info on their FB page or contact them via FB).

List of Places for grocery shopping

I supply this in my guest binder and thought perhaps it could be helpful here as the OP was asking.... (format has likely changed when copy/pasting - sorry).

If something has changed (ie closed!) or i'v missed somewhere for this list - locals, please pipe up! I'm not down fulltime and its a full time job trying to keep up sometimes with all the restaurants etc that open/close when i'm not there to keep all my lists uptodate! Gracias

GROCERY & ALCOHOL SHOPPINGalcohol cannot be purchased before 1000 and after 1500 on Sundays – some stores have different hours!
Grocery stores are open 7 days a week from early till late and some have items others dont. Always busy in evening. It is customary to tip the grocery baggers a few pesos as they do not get paid a salary.
Walmart, Chedraui, Sam’s are approx 15-20 min walk. Taxis available at store exits – $70p to villa.

Online: www.loqsea.com offers delivered groceries. First delivery free. Click on UK flag at top for English. No markup prices just delivery and choose time. Pay online or upon delivery. 984 804 3872

Large grocery stores:
Walmart (Ave 30 & 8St North) Has everything you might need including bakery, liquor, hardware, deli, veggies, meat, fish, Electronics, toiletries. Small organic section. Best choice for some familiar items. Newer, bigger Walmart on the west side of highway in the Ejido that is much nicer! V busy in evening. Best to go in mornings.
Mega (Ave 30 & Constituyentes couple blocks north of Walmart) Even more variety than Walmart (Mexican Version) Huge store. (used to have Fresh milk thurs/fri only?)
Chedraui (Highway 307 & 1 St South) Has most things and Cheaper prices as locals like here.
Sam’s Club (Highway 307 between Playacar entrances south of Chedraui) Big box style. Day pass
City Club opposite side of hway in Centro Maya Mall. Like Sam’s. Good deli meat, cheap liquor, good variety wine, small selection of fruit/veg, bread. Day passes available at both stores usually.
Soriana Centro Maya Mall other side of highway. Like Chedraui/Walmart. Good bakery.

Small Local stores
Marzan Market (Ave 3/1 St Sur, Closest to villa) Fresh fruit/veg mkt. Some deli items also. Fresh OJ. Ask for avocadoes at cashier - they have ripe ones for immediate use. Harder ones in back - ask for those too!
Dac market 30 Ave between Constituentes and 20 St. Fresh fruit/veg , spices/chiles, some international/organic specialties, canned items, sometimes good bread, natural yoghurt with no sugar. Not a one stop shop but a nice little market for odd items.
Pacsadeli few blocks west of hway on Constituentes y 85Ave. Some obscure things found here (filo)!

Fish
TK Calle 16 just north of 30 Ave . Local catch fish market – will clean/fillet how you want.
Pat y Pat 10 St between 30 y 35 St. 984 8731141. Local fresh fish market.
El Pirata 40 St between 5 y 10 ave. Tiny fishmarket + restaurant. Closes 5.30ish
Oceano fresh fish/seafood market at the corner of Ave. 35 and Calle 34.

Delis/Organic stores
Organic Market hway 307 y 46 St opposite Pemex. New
Bio Natural 5th/ 26St + 10 Ave/16 St Small organic store/café. Some organic items eg. natural yogurt.
La Europea 8St/10 Ave + Alegria Mall on corner Constituentes/5th & 10 Ave Deli + booze!
Don Marios Italian restaurant (10 ave/8 St) have some Italian meats/cheeses available
Novis Corner of 25 Ave y 20 St. Italian grocery store (cheeses, meats, breads, wine, pasta etc)
PDC Smoked Meats & More – Fronts onto Aviation Rd or backs onto Paseo Coba opposite Villas del Mayab (group of houses Casa Tortuga is in). 984 1289673 Canadian owners from BC make all sausages and smoke meats on site. Great variety of sausages, bacon, Canadian bacon, perogies. Good homemade apple strudel
La Europea – 8 St. between 5 and 10 ave. and Alegria Mall on Constituentes/5th. Meat and cheese deli hidden amongst the booze!

Guidos Butcher Shop – 45 Ave between 26 y 28 St. For particular cuts of meat.

Buying Homemade Pasta
Casa Sofia (restaurant/deli) - Plaza behind Villas del Mayab (walk thru the bar!) or fronts onto Ave Aviacion. 200 types of pasta to buy/takeout!
Util Pasta Factory - Ave. 25 entre 30 y 32 St. Pasta/sauce to go by the kilo. Supplies many of the other restaurants in Playa. (984) 134-7919 or (984) 130-3001

Farmers Markets/Mercados (rotating schedule)
