RPDC Junior Suite Ocean View

Hello folks, this July will be our second trip to the RPDC. Can't wait! Our first trip was 2 years ago and we stayed in an Ocean Front room, which was amazing! This year, however, we are staying in an Ocean View room. I've been reading that the online check in is no longer available, or simply does not work. We used this on our last trip and it was really convenient. I'm disappointed it's no longer available (even thought it's still on their website).

Can anyone give me any tips on how to reserve a room prior to our trip in July, now that the online check in is not functioning? Furthermore, can anyone give me some good Ocean View room numbers to request. We would like to be around the big pool area and preferably on the 3rd floor. Thanks in advance for any help.

Use the Contact us Link

Choose the room now and send a request to the POC listed on the Email Addy. Sorry cant remember the name now but I did that on the last trip and got the rooms that we requested.

YMMV

Thank you! We'll give this a shot. Does anyone happen to have a RPDC resort map that shows room numbers? Much appreciated. Thanks

I'd send in a request for the room to be in front of the Tulum building. In front of Uxmal, too close to the Hyatt. In front of Coba, you have a pool and/or Pelicanos.

I agree with requesting the Tulum section. The Coba Ocean Fronts are directly above the rowdiest area of the pool and the Uxmal is arm's distance from the new Hyatt. Tulum is the middle section and your best bet. We have stayed in the Tulum section Ocean Front room 538 (3rd floor) before and had no issues with noise.
You have to understand there will be some daytime noise no matter what Ocean Front room you're in. However, everything is relatively quit towards the evening hours as people are going out for dinner.
The best reccommendation I can make for the Ocean Front rooms is to request the 3rd floor if you want the best possible views. I noticed that the views from the 2nd and 1st floors were obstructed by Palm Trees that are planted directly in front of the rooms. The 3rd floors are just high enough to see over the Palms.

So does everyone agree that 3rd floor is the best for the view.... also...

followup question.. some lower end AIs have had up-charges for some things like upper shelf liquor.. and at the coffee shop.. does that happen at the Royal?

thanks....

Top shelf liquors are included. However, there are some liquors you might have to pay for, but we're talking something like single malt scotch, whiskey, etc. There is a tequila bar there too, and some of the high end tequilas come at an additional charge. But for most people, what they serve as part of the AI is fine. There is no charge for the coffee shop.

We arrive on Jan 8 for 10 days and I have requested 535 and 538, Tulum section. Fingers crossed that we are luckily enough to get either of the two rooms!

We are staying at the RPDC 2/16/17. I have a few questions . How do you request a room? We have a jr oceanfront suite booked through our travel agent. What is the best way to request a room number? Is there still an online option 2 days prior ( reading conflicting posts) should I email or call ? are the addresses and numbers online?

Do we need to reserve dinnersand excursions prior to arriving ?
