MP is about 40% finished. The temporary lobby in small shop is in the Bldg. that later will house the healthclub and actually looks nice. 9 Bldgs.with Condo's and Hotel Rooms are finished. The large beautiful pool area with 2 swim up bars are finished and up and running. The restaurant by the pool is finished and in operation. The Restaurant by the Beach is under some construction and partially finished but this work should be done soon. A large Palapa style Bar with dance floor and stage for bands is finished and very nice. The large future Lobby Building is under full construction and is right behind the pool and next to Bldgs. 1,2,3 and 4. If you want it more quiet request Bldg. 8 or 7 however that is furthest from the pool and beach but worked good for us because it is close to the rental car parking area. Basically, there is construction going on everywhere you look at this point and it will take 4 years until the resort is 100% complete including the golf course, indoor tennis courts and water park. I would say in about 2 years it will be nice enough to stay there if you pay more than I would say $70 per night for the Hotel Unit. I hope this helps. We just got back from there!

I'm leaving for Mayan Palace next Saturday, Apr 6. We have a rental car and prefer to be in an area as quiet as possible. I'm trying to figure out what bldg we should request a room in. I saw in an earlier post that bldg 7 & 8 are closest to the rental car parking lot and quietest, but farthest from the pool and beach. Can someone tell me what type of area bldg 7 & 8 are in and what the view is like from the rooms there?
Thanks very much! |

None of the views are very nice at this point because there is construction going on everywhere. And in the regards to the party question. I would not pick the MP Bar just to party. If you are staying there anyway it will be fine for some evenings but if you want to party go to either Cancun or Playa del Carmen.

No Kidding! We experienced this as well and why are people moving furniture around in the middle of the night??? Out of the 3 nights we stayed there on 2 nights we heard everything from a stuck elevator ringing the bell a hundred times to the ice machine and whatever the neighbors where doing. Luckely, they where not to bad. I would not wanted to have a honeymoon couple next door. The turn down service is a nice touch and we liked the chocolate on the pillows but I think they let Mosquitos in every night do to that. We killed about 4 each night and had no maids opened the doors with all the lights on in the evening we would not of had this problem every night. No big deal but kind of anoying after you figure out why the skeeters are in your room even so you killed all of them the prior night and now there are new hungry fellows ready to bite.
