Having driven down with our stuff I can say if we could do it over we'd pay a moving company....cost would be about the same. Sell your cars in the states and buy a car here.

For starters - you WILL NOT FedEx your personal belongings down here.
Google Hyde Shipping - that is an option.
If you are going to be a permanent resident then sell your cars and buy here. IMO.

Because an 8 ounce letter will cost you $30
Do you want a part for your computer - fine - trust FedEx - maybe.
But your belongings??

We used Strom White Movers to send down one 205 cubic foot crate. It was expensive. If you want to move a lot of stuff down look at a shipping container via sea.

Our movers did an excellent job, but it was expensive.

Ok. Got it there their just pricey , I'll check Hyde . I Have seen you post to some of my searches for lodging maybe you have some ideas ? I'm looking for a signed room small kitchenette AC , TV private bath near 5th within walking distance for around 20-40 a night . I'm coming down to immerse myself a little deeper in the local scene as a precursor for a permanent move. My wife and I would like some type of employment if nothing else but to make us more at ease with this huge life change . I realize there are complications working there as an expat .(trying to figure all that mess out) . I thank you for taking your time to assist us in our quest . My wife and I have been working in a large family owned nightclub for 20 years ( wildcountrynightclub.com) as managers ,musicians , live audio for national acts and so on . we are not rich but we have some savings.my wife is certified in yoga as well as social media management. I am also in the late stages of my divemaster certification. We are hoping to stay in one of those disciplines just on a smaller level so any help is appreciated.

I can see you getting a room for $20-$40 a night in Centro, but one with a kitchenette? I dunno about that.

Guess that you will have to bring a car to pull the trailer. Pack it full. And don't forget your pets.

Shipping with DHL, FED EX, UPS are all very expensive. If I remember correctly, shipping a 20 lb. package would be in excess of $150 usd, and that is not overnight :
