You've got a point there, Tommy. (But the way you comb your hair covers it pretty well, Ba-Dum-Bum!!)

Seriously though, from now on, when somebody is making a 90 degree turn in subject matter...could you please raise your hand. I'm getting whiplash!

Perhaps some of the research or designing was done with computers.

Oh, and thanks for the poem Bumper. See the funny thing about all of this is I made the mistake of taking my wife and three daughters to the mall with me to buy the new computer. I knew things were bad when my wife told me to park at the opposite end of the Circuit City. By the time we made it down to Circuit City, my wife and daughters had spent 150% of my computer budget. Oh well, that's what I get for having four women in my life who like to buy clothers. My wife was complaining about how tired she was after only 3 1/2 hours of shopping. ONLY 3 1/2 HOURS!. I don't think I've shopped for clothes for 3 1/2 hours in the past 10 years combined.

So instead of Sony I got, Gap, Izod, Ralph Lauren, et al.

Thanks again for the info and off topic laughs.

JT

Funny you should mention that, my yard looks horrible. The kids and the dog have turned the back yard into a large uneven mud pit. The front yard has more clover than grass this spring, and my wife won't let me use any weed killer because of the kids and the dog. The landscaper wants $3k to completely regrade the back yard and reseed. $3K???? Doesn't he realize how many nights at Playa Maya $3K buys? Better my wife and I should spend 4 nights with Steve in May and another 7 nights with the whole family in August. Heck, if we drink enough you cant even tell there's no grass in the back.

Besides, we stopped smoking grass years ago. No need to grow our own anymore.

What I will do is take the hard drive from the old computer and plug it in the new one as a second unit. You just transfer files to the new hard drive. Hope you are still brave enough to do this.

Otherwise, burn all the files you need to a CD and take them to the new puter.

This would probably be my first attempt. This has been tricky in the past with Dell machines. If I remember correctly it is a matter of changing the jumpers on the drive to set it up as a slave drive instead of the master boot drive. But this is exactly what I did years ago when I got the new Dell machine.

Right, just change the jumper and that should be. Cross your fingers.
