Sit on yer butt at an AI and drink too much report

Well its time to go back to Puerto Vallarta again, were leaving tomorrow at 8 AM.
I will do a trip report even tho nobody else does any more, were not planning to do much but unwind and maybe take a sailboat whale watching tour if the whales are there yet.

Were here!!
This has been an interesting day, we got up at 4:30 and 2 minuets later the lights went out so we finished packing our carry on bag in the dark. Everything went fine until we went through customs and realized I had lost my passport after we had gone through the first customs line. fortunately we found it and all is well, and were having a few drinks and maybe tomorrow I can post some pictures.

I've already had a beer or two for everyone on the forum. The trip so far has been a little screwed up, but kinda funny. Last night I put my feet up on the railing of our room and a pigeon landed and walked over and pecked me on the toe. This morning my wife decided to help me put the waterproof cover on my hearing device, to make a long story short, she managed to break it by doing what I told her not to do. Fortunaitly I kept my temper and it took the heat off of me for loosing my passport.
I didn't pack my camera battery charger so I might not post many pictures till we get home. Were going to town tomorrow and wander around. There is a Saturday market the city park in old town and that's were we will start our day and wander the board walk stopping at our favorite bars restaurants and the little ice cream shop we discovered last year.
The weather here is beautiful, 85 and partly cloudy, eat yer hart out Playa.

Can you hear me now!!

Sorry about your misadventures Harold. Eager to hear about your holiday. Whereabouts is your ice cream shop? We have an ice cream fanatic in our group and he needs his fix. I noticed the P.V. Forum is nothing like the playa forum. The P.V. Forum is so lame. Take care and watch out for the pigeons.

This turned into just what the title says, all we did was eat drink and relax.
We stayed at Velas Vallarta AI and had a one bedroom suite. This is a beautiful resort with very nice rooms and magnificent grounds. There are two adult pools and one kid pool. The adult pools are connected with a four foot deep channel that was fun to swim or wade, and a big plus for winter time visits is: THE POOLS ARE HEATED.
They claim to have three bars but there is only really one and that's the pool bar, the other two are invisible, they just bring you a drink. There are 2 restaurants, that have basically the same food for breakfast and lunch with a dinner theme such as Asian or Caribbean night. I wouldn't call this a foodie type resort, there is no giant buffet, it's either order from a menu or go through a short buffet line, either way the food is the same, we usually just ate lunch by the pool. There was a barbecue with burgers and hot dogs, they also had sandwiches, and Mexican type snacks such as nachos. With that said the food was of very good quality and the restaurants were fun places to eat with friendly staff and good service the, steak house was our favorite. There was a 3rd restaurant that was only open during the busy season for dinner. We ate there one night and were disappointed, they were trying to be upscale; it was formal and not my style, but I hoped the food was good. I ordered Sea Scallops and it was one! I ain't kiddin raw scallop thinly sliced on very thin slices of something I couldn't identify, maybe dry banana with some sort of sauce, it was basically two forks full of food. It reminded me of the TV advertisement where the guy looks at the serving size the waiter gives him and sarcastically says hardy.

Some shots from our balcony.
I will post more pictures later but now I gotta get cleaned up to attend my wife's semi retirement party

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your attitude, our ice cream shop now is a tequila bar.

Thank you for the report, about this time of the year I would take a bad day there as to a good day here. LOL

I am able to keep up the good attitude just with the reminders of Mexico through others trip reports.

Well after leaving home in the dark because the power went out loosing my passport at the airport getting it back getting pecked on the toe by a pigeon we settled in to a very nice one bedroom suite. Friday we just spent the day by the pool and partied.

That's me partying about as much as I can do at my age.

This was a cool swimming channel between the adult pools, it didn't connect them and you had to climb up 3 or 4 steps to get in the other pool.

The grounds of this resort are spectacular and very well maintained. This is an artificial stream that runs the length of the grounds with several waterfalls
and is full of Koi and other fish.

Postmg pictures always confuses me so I'm gonna quit and post more later. BY
