Small gift a local would appreciate?

I've been absent for two years but am heading back for my playa fix! I've been there many times but have never run across this thought before. I had some extensive email exchanges and assistance from a gal from Playa. I am going to meet her and am wondering what small gift I could bring her in thanks? Lol yes, I am a terrible Christmas shopper too! Any ideas?

Anything that you can easily get in the US but can't get here would be a good gift. For starters, here are some of the fantasy gifts I can think of right off the bat:

1) A bottle of Trader Joe's mojito sauce (we've got good drinking mojitos here, but no mojito sauce for food).

2) A Chipotle burrito (no burritos in Mexico - none worthy of the name, anyway. Wrap in aluminum foil, freeze it, pack between clothes - will stay frozen till you get here.)

3) (add more things here...)

What a great thread! Giving gifts is my "love language" and I would also like to have something small and thoughtful on hand to give to our favorite waiter or cleaning lady of the week. Yes, cash is an obvious option, but we tip well anyway. This is would be something small in addition to the regular tips.

As I was typing this actually, I just now remembered that the bartender at Luna Blue a few years back, Jorge, had hats with local teams from past guests and he seemed to think that was very cool!

Which raises the question of whether BreezyGirl's friend is an ex-pat or a local - each might have a different level of appreciation for Trader Joe's mojito sauce and a Chipotle burrito. So, BreezyGirl, what are the parameters we need to know about your friend and what she might appreciate the most?

Walmart has gift cards here. I think they can also be used at Sam's. Pretty sure about anyone would appreciate that. Be sure you buy them here and not in the US, though.

I only know Clara from emailing over a week. I have assumed she is a local based on her name and her emails. I suppose cash would always be appreciated but I just thought something not available in Playa from the US would be nice, just don't know what that something would be! Lol. Thank you all for your suggestions!

I think, unless you know someone personally, it would be impossible to guess. Most everything anyone could want is available here these days and those things that aren't, Clara probably isn't familiar with anyway. High end items cost less in the states, but little things aren't that different. What would you get someone in a similar situation that lived in your hometown? Whatever it is, I'd just do the same here.
