And that's that! Holbox is small, yet beautiful... quiet, yet friendly... boring, maybe, yet totally relaxing. If you get the chance to visit, I'd definitely recommend it. In a few years, I think it will be an entirely different place. But I guess that can be said of many destinations. Hope you enjoyed the little tour!

It is a wonderful place and we will keep going over 2-4 times a year until ya'll grow to love it so much that it gets to busy.

Then it is back to the coast north of Mahahual or north of Xcalak.

counting down to Holbox trip

We have never been to Holbox but decided we needed to go before it gets built up like so many coastal towns. We are flying into Cancun and probably taking the bus - timing is our issue. I have had a hard time finding a bus schedule in English but have heard that there are Ado, Mayab and Noreste busses running from Cancun to Chiquila. Our plane lands at 1:50PM....

only 2 weeks to go......

Good for you.

Do a taxi or private transfer is you can afford it and if it does not offend your sensibility as an independent traveler

My understanding is that there is no ADO from Cancun, just the 2nd class busses and the last one leave at 2:15 or 2:30, so you won't make the bus. We are having the same issue as our flight gets in at 1pm, so I need to suck it up and do a transfer. What are your dates for Holbox? We will be there April 30 to May 3.
