Don't know about the can of Kraken and Coke, but I do know you can buy Kraken rum at the new Oxxo in Puerto Morelos- the one on the corner of Nina Heroes and the highway road. Presumably, you can buy it at any/most Oxxos?

Also- love the report! Unico, Chayito, live music- you hit some of our favorite stuff Which direction off the square is that chicken and ribs place? I don't remember seeing it, but I've barely been south of the square. We've done Queen's for carbon chicken.

Unico Beach Club...hands down...although I would also say that you will arrive in town at the square and the walk to Unico takes you right past Tacos dot Com...I would stop there for tacos and a margarita then on to Unico...if it is Unico only for food as well get the stuffed avacado...

In PDC you can find it at Mega...also most OXXO have them as well...in PM Casa Martin has them but not all the time......sonofdob

Continue on Ninos Heroes from the OXXO toward Abby del Sol...it's about 2 or 3 blocks past the OXXO...just past John Gray's Kitchen on the same side of the street but before Pancho Villas......sonofdob

Seriously?? We must have walked by there pretty much every day on our fresh juice/mango/grocery run. Never saw it.

In the evening…

Puerto Morelos is actually very quiet at night and there is really is not any late night activities. That is a big plus for us and we love it.

The pastry van comes around each evening around 19:00…you hear the loudspeaker on the roof to give you time to get down to the street…great pastries and breads…

There is still plenty of great places for dinner or a few cocktails though.

El Pirata…one of our favourites…

John Gray’s Kitchen…a little higher end ($) but exceptional service and a great menu…

For meat it has to be Al Chimichurri…and next door is great little wine bar…Taninos…

We like Spaghetino…

El Sabor de Mexico…

A nice addition is actually a transplant from PDC...Luna Rosa...in house made pasta and nice wines...

There always seems to be a lot of activity at the church…day and night…

Apparently Herbie (the love bug) has found the charms of Puerto Morelos and retired here…

This guy was funny…rode up and started playing…did not even get off his bike to play and also collected his fee while still on his bike…thanked us and rode away…

Cantina Habanero…is a great place to finish up each evening…always jumping and the friendliest spot in town…

They have live music…

There is always dancing and when it gets going it always spills out on to the street…

In the end though it always a nice quiet stroll home and the peace and quiet of Cabanas Puerto Morelos…

We’re almost done here and we’ll try and wrap this up right away…

Well then…I guess our time here is almost over. Always hate to see a vacation end but then again it’s always nice to go home.
We spent the last day about town and on the beach.

We saw these two kids a number of times during our stay…both around town and on the beach. They would politely ask if they could sing a song and often had a third kid with them. They had worked out a cute little routine complete with co-ordinated dance moves. Very entertaining!

Of course we had to finish the same as we started and that meant some great tacos and the best margarita in town at tacos dot com.

This is the man who makes it all happen…Mr Tacos dot Com himself…

We had one last soak in the pool…

Packed up and Nellie (the house keeper at Cabanas) arranged for her son who owns a taxi to pick us up and get us to CUN.
We left these two on the couch though as the real McKoy’s or is that McCulloch’s will be arriving soon and checking in to #6 at Cabanas Puerto Morelos.

Thanks for following along and hopefully we provided some info or insight that helps out some other travelers….see you on the beach…...sonofdob

Oh and just this one last little bit of airline humour…

Great trip report, thanks for sharing. We too are beginning to enjoy more time in PM. It is hard to go down and not spend time in both areas. You hit all the great spots! Very cool to take your "friends" along for the ride!

This is a very helpful report, thanks!

I want to post a short one from last month's trip but the rest of the group hasn't shared photos yet. Mine are insufficient.

Great report as always, and especially helpful for those of us considering PM and Isla as an addition to Playa.

Spending a day at PM finally on this trip in 2 weeks. Pretty much had everything down from your past trip reports. Thanks so much for the great report.
