You guys are crazy holding that snake! Thanks for sharing your report and pics.
I'm sure he's a Pat's fan, too- really living the dream It was just a little boa constrictor- it only tried to strangle my hand off once....

Yeah. I'm glad I didn't think of that while we were there....we'll be staying at the house next door to you next year- maybe we'll actually be there at the same time!

Thanks for writing this, Sara.

Your daughter is so cute. And I can't believe how big she is already....time sure flies!

PM looks like a nice spot. Great beach. Did you snorkel there? You have to take a boat out to the reef, right? Or can you swim out to it?

Have you been to Isla? If so, how does it compare to PM? Just wondering, as I am weighing where to go my next time to this area- PDC, IM, or PM.

Rissask...while you'e waiting for Buggirl I'll chime in. Of the three we prefer PM...it is quieter than the other two...has an awesome uncrowded beach...many good reasonably price restaurants and a couple of higher end ones as well. The reef is a marine park and you need to go with a guide on a boat. Swimming to it is not recommended as there is a busy boat channel between shore and the reef. We saw a man (Mexican) get run over and killed by a boat last year trying to swim back to shore from the reef...sonofdob

Thanks, Ris!

I agree with Dan, other than I haven't been to Isla. We prefer multi-bedroom condos within walking distance of town, and they're MUCH more expensive on Isla. For us, PM is perfect- calm water, beautiful beach that isn't that crowded, lots of good restaurants all close by, and proximity to the airport. Cutting down on travel time really helps with the little one.

Dan is also correct about boat snorkeling, but you can snorkel from shore in front of the orange condo we stayed in. It's roped off for safety, and there are even buoys to rest on (that mark interesting features). From what I gather, it's not as good as hiring a boat, but it's easy. Our friend brought just a snorkel and mask (no fins or life vest) and tooled around every day out there. She says she's not a strong swimmer, but she went with the current and used the buoys. We always kept an eye on her, though.

We were quoted $20 USD/person for a 2 hour boat tour at the main dock. Kid would've been free. We didn't end up going b/c it was super windy and pretty chilly, but hopefully next year. We would have gone last year (it was a lot warmer), but they didn't rent safety equipment in 2 year old size, and her life vest was somewhere in NY, North Carolina, or wherever our suitcase vacationed while we were in Mexico....

I realized by the middle of the trip, that I really preferred not having a toilet seat- especially since I trained my husband to wipe it down when he was done using it I've never had a stable toilet seat in Mexico- there are so many 3 am pees that end in me slipping off the side of the toilet and swearing loudly- not a problem with no seat! As my friend put it- seats are fine if you're just sitting, but if you shift to wipe- watch out

My friend took a picture of us at Coba I didn't see before:

Next up: Crococun Zoo- mixed feelings about this place...
Gosh you two really look like parents now lol…where’s Jeremy’s hair hahaha…your daughter is so beautiful …thanks for the TR, the photos are great …too bad we missed you guys this year!

As opposed to before when we looked like what...hobos? Vagabonds? Hippies? Or is that your nice way of saying we look old? (Which I certainly feel sometimes, b/c nothing ages you like not getting enough sleep...)

Hope we cross paths next year! Loving Dan's reporting!

Just catching up with the forum after a bit of a break, and saw this- great report, Sara! Can't believe how big your daughter is getting- so cute!!

We haven't been to Chamicos for a couple years or so. When we went they were not serving mixed drinks, mmm! We love the meals we've had there.

Thanks, Anne! We LOVED Chamicos- I think we all wished we could've stayed there longer. What a great spot!
