Allegro Playacar Resort

Hi,

I'm french, so, sorry for my english which is not too good
I will go in Allegro Playacar for the next month, and I would like to have some opinions about this resort (rooms, beach, restaurants...).
There are not many french tourists who stay in this resort, so, it's difficult to have recents opinions on this hotel.

Thanks a lot

We are going back there twice this year for our 5th stay in 3 years! The beach is awesome. It is a small older resort, but the staff is great. Some of the rooms are a little dated, but I hear the are updating them soon. 15 minute walk into Playa del Carmen. So many great places to eat in town!

It's definitely on the low end as Playacar AI resorts go, but I thought it was delightful when I stayed there several years ago.

Do you know how is the weather in May ? It will be the first time that I'll go to Mexico, so I hope it will be sunny and no rainy

Moreover, I want to go in Tulum. Do you know the price in taxi from Playa to Tulum ?

We go the end of May every year, and the weather is great. And the crowds not bad at all. You can catch a collectivo for a few pesos. Anyone at the resort can point you in the right direction.

We will be in Tulum the 17th of May. Not sure of the price of a taxi but maybe someone else can help you with that.

Taxi ride from Tulum back to Playa del carmen , $700-$750 pesos.
We got lucky & he only charged $600.

Took a cab from Riu to Collectivo- 90 pesos

Collectivo to Tulum 40 pesos each

Tulum to our hotel on beach 250 pesos but also stopped for us to shop at Chedraui (sp)

Hope this helps you make a decision.

My wife and I stayed at the Alegro Playacar back in 2010. We found it to be a beautiful resort with the gardens and grounds in awesome shape. The dinner buffet wasn't anything to write home about but that's why there are so many good restaurants in town. The beach is incredible there and that's the number 1 reason we are staying there when we return to Playa this February.
