Thanks for alerting me, I get notices of threads in this forum. I've been busy with work lately and hadn't noticed this had escalated. I also noticed that there was some redirection going on but hadn't put time into research.

I always end up wondering why people that are able to create such clever exploits spend their time like that instead of 'making the world a better place.'

Blame buggy, unsupported software and some very cunning cunts. Hopefully the patches will hold for another couple weeks as I've pulled the trigger on jumping the vBulletin ship after 12 years, and the transition to XenForo is underway.

Please DO update this thread if you get another redirect to some filesharing site. I appreciate your help and sorry about the downtime.

With Firefox and Avast, I just had to clear the cookies to get it working.

Avast is still blocking it on all my browsers even after I clear cookies. Houston we definitely have a major problem.

I don't believe that is accurate.

The test is to go to the site from a Google search link. If you get redirected on the first attempt, the infection is present. Google reports the site as clean.

Avast isn't always very quick/accurate https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=124231.15

Like I wrote, Avast is wrong. They blacklisted us and they are slow to update their list.

It's a false positive.
