How's the internet service in Playacar

Playacar residents,
I'm planning my return to Playa and since it doesn't seem to have been discussed recently I was wondering if the internet service in Playacar fasa 2 has gotten any better these past couple of years?

I work online 8-12 hours a day. A decent and reliable internet service is a necessity for me.

More precisely I'm looking at a property near the 10th ave entrance wanted to know what to expect before I hop on a plane to check the place out and possibly be very disappointed.

Anyone living in Playacar working online that might give me a service update.

Thanking you in advance

Playacar has different suppliers of internet depending on where the property is located. Paseo Coba and parts of Paseo Xaman Ha do have high speed cable.

I believe it really depends on where in Playacar. Some places have access to both Izzy (Cable) and Telmex (DSL) and some places have access to neither and you're limited to wireless internet like Playa Wireless.

Several areas in Playacar the Telmex boxes are full and you can be put on a waiting list for access.

I know someone that has Izzy and it's quite good for just general web surfing however I noticed they don't get provided a route-able IP. Izzy actually NATs all customers IPs so there are several issues that come up with that such as some VPNs will not work through a double NAT. If you have no idea what any of that means it probably doesn't concern you.

Playa wireless is very expensive and quite slow and you need to put an antenna on the outside of your building. If you're renting your landlord may or my not permit for that.

I say go to Telmex, Izzy, Playa Wireless, ask who can provide service and see what options you even have. You could be lucky and have access to all 3 but you might find you might only have 1 or even none depending on your situation.

My wife is going to sort out our Internet next week because we're in a similar situation I was unaware the Internet links in Playacar were so limited. I hope we can get decent connectivity without many problems then it will be one less thing to worry about.
