BUT the grilled chicken breasts are YUMMY. I buy a kilo for $189 (or less for whatever amount smaller amount you want). Comes with a lot of other free stuff (mashed potatoes, slaw or salad, rolls, etc.), but I pass-up all of that and order it with only the really tasty red sauce (in a white styrofoam cup w/lid) and 2 spaghettis (red or white, both good, both free, and lots of it with whatever you buy).

I eat the spaghetti and chicken separately over the course of the week - a kilo of chicken breasts lasts me about a week for tacos, burritos, sandwiches, omlettes, scrambled eggs, and whatever, assuming there's any left in the carton after I nibble at it when it arrives - I'm tempted to eat the whole thing when I bring it home, but fortunately a kilo of thin chicken breasts is a LOT of chicken. (Caution - nearly every piece has half of the wishbone [chicken clavicle] in it along one margin - so find it and take it out before feeding the kids - you can gnaw around it and take off the meat yourself, but don't let the kids try it.) And the spaghettis last me another week. It's a hell of a deal, really.

I haven't had a car here for several years, so it costs me 60 MXN to taxi over and back. You can call in the order in advance - Spanish only - BUT it helps to know what you want because 1) they're busy, and 2) they're not yet used to people who don't know the menu or speak sufficient Spanish calling in, and 3) given all that, they probably won't wait for you to make up your mind.

There are two Krujipollo locations - I use the one on the NE corner of Colosio and Av 40; phone# at that location is 984-147-5564 (if you want to call it in yourself, with the above caveats). The other location is on Arco Vial (which is Av 115) somewhere a little south of Constituyentes, east side of the street (Babaloo will know where it is), but I haven't tried that one and don't know the phone#. Provecho!!
Any chance you could get a picture of their menu and post it? I'd love to try this!

Menu is a series of overhead picture boards - not too attractive, and the colors are off - but I'll give it a whirl.

They have a quite ordinary eating area, but I always get the chicken breasts to take out so I can make some General Tsao's Super Kung-Fu Guacamole Chicken Burritos (pronounced "chow's", apparently -Pacsadeli, $368 MXN for about a half-gallon jug). I like the General Tsao's best on breaded chicken chunks, none of which I've been able to find anywhere - Pacsadeli has some, but too bread-y, and they also have some under-breaded chicken breasts - but the sauce is so good it goes with almost anything, including Krujipollo's grilled chicken breasts - and probably even good on ice cream, too, which I'll have to try a bit later.

So I went to Pizza Mondo. Very good pizza. Perhaps the best I've had in Playa. (I like the pizza at Salciccium, but that's more of a "gourmet flatbread" than a "normal" Western Hemisphere style pizza.)

Krujipollo is more of a mid-day thing - they open at 10 or 11 and somewhere between 2 and 3 they seem to regularly run out of chicken breasts, so I get it around noon and have it for lunch and later. I haven't tried the actual 'crispy chicken', but as I say, it looks more like a crispy critter than what we consider 'fried chicken'.

Pizza Mondo isn't too far from my house, so I definitely need to walk over and try it - unless they deliver (got a phone#?).

Totally agree! The chicken is the best we have ever had! And we also agree about the mac and cheese. The (s)mashed potatoes aren't great either, but it's hard to complain when the chicken is so good.

Wow - I though I had struck gold when I found Don Chendo. We had tried so many pizza places that were awful, I was about to give up - until I found Don Chendo. I'm usually not a Chicago style fan, but man, it is sooooo good. But if there is actually another place that has good pizza, we will have to try that asap!
