Will I be happy at Royal Catalonia Tulum

I know that's a loaded question!

I have found what I consider to be a good deal at Royal Catalonia. $770 pp Nov 26-30th. I have stayed twice at the Iberostar Grand; regular room once and OF once. Loved both stays. Enjoyed the spacious beach and did not mind dodging a few rocks upon entry. Food, bed, and service were great.

I have also stayed once at The Royal in Playa. While this was a fun stay because I was with friends, I wasn't particularly impressed with the food. I hated the beach, and I despised the hard a$$ beds! No offense to the Royal lovers.

I have reasonable expectations and do not expect Royal Catalonia to match up to the Grand, but wondering if anyone can offer their insight?

Thanks in advance!

It certainly won't match up to the Iberostar or the Royal.
The beach is very nice, though.
The food is mediocre and the bars kind of suck.
Other than that, we enjoyed our stay there
But, we won't return when there are so many nicer places (and obviously more expensive).

Thanks Babaloo. I was at the Grand in July for basically double the price of Catalonia. This all got started because my hairdresser went to the Catalonia and raved about it. They did do privilege and it was their first AI experience. Anyway, I was just checking it out and found that price for air + hotel. And it got me considering a 2nd quick trip. I guess my main concerns are a decent bed and a good beach. Surely I won't starve in four days. I keep telling myself that four days on the beach beats staying at home! I know it won't compare to the Grand or the Royal, but I also don't want to think it was so bad that it wasn't worth the money. VIM is pricing around 900ish. I might need to consider that because now can't see myself NOT going to Mexico

The beach is great.
The beds were good.
For the money, it's a good deal.
