Bahia Principe Tulum Neighbours

My daughter is getting married at the Bahia Principe Akumal Resort. Several guests of ours are RCI members and we were wonderring if anybody knows which neighbouring resorts are RCI, how far they are from the Bahia Principe and how far the Bahia Principe is from the Cancun airport?
Also, does anybody have any good or bad wedding experiences at the Bahia Principe? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The Bahia is about an hour and 15-20ish minutes from the airport if you drive without making any stops to drop others off at their resorts. If you make stops, it's a haul, put it that way.

But it's a very nice hotel. I have not seen any weddings there but I can't imagine them doing one badly.

Now, what's an RCI member?

Are they the ones that stay at the Palace Resorts?

Thankyou for the reply. RCI is a vacation exchange club, also considerred a time share. RCI resorts include the family of Palace resorts, Blue Bay resorts, Sun Club resorts, Occidental resorts, also Fishermans Village, and Club Viva Maya.

Well in that case, the closest resort would be Xpu Ha Palace.

Hello...

I recently stayed at the Bahia Principe Tulum...It was AMAZING! What a great resort they have there! I did venture over to the Akumal part and on the very very far side down by the beach I saw the ending of a wedding. It was absolutely beautiful! They were taking some pictures and they looked like they would turn out extremely perfect. I think that any wedding there would have to be awesome! Bahia Principe is a lot of fun too, and don't forget to hit up the disco after 12:00 in the Hacienda!!

Thanks for the info, and the positive info regarding the Bahia and the outlook on the resort and the wedding. Also, Shammy you are a wealth of knowledge. Could you help me one more time please? (Or anyone else who may know), What is the nearest RCI non all inclusive resort to the Bahia Principe? Can you believe some people would rather not go all inclusive!

Ooooo, sorry brockster, I just saw this!

Ummm, put it this way, most of the resorts up and down the coast of the Mayan Riviera are all inclusive. If you want non all inclusive, you have to look toward something inside the town of Playa del Carmen. Or there's also Ikal del Mar, Cieba del Mar, Maroma, the Tankah Inn, the Blue Sky Hotel...........but nothing that is like the Bahia, or even close by really. There are also quite a few really cute villas and the like for rent down by Tulum. These are BEAUTIFUL, secluded villas/homes that will take your breath away...but it depends on what the other folks are looking for.
But to my knowledge, none of these are RCI member places (you know what I mean). I really don't think you'll find something RCI that isn't all inclusive in the Mayan Riviera.

Thank you. Weddings, aren't they fun. I know as hard as I try, I won't be able to please all our guests coming. But they can't say I didn't try. I can't wait to get there and just enjoy myself.
