Buying a car, pesos

I have decided it is time to get some wheels, after 2 years I've walked everywhere I want to.
So I've been hitting up the ATM for building a cash reserve, trying not to be too conspicuous. But I'm also stockpiling a bunch of small notes, ideally I'd prefer all 500's.
Any issues or concerns with bringing in stacks of 50s, 100s, and 200 notes to a bank to get 500 notes.
Also, looking for a car in the under 90K range if anyone reading this may happened to be selling.

My concern would just be the people watching you wandering around with stacks of cash.

Also, for a purchase of that size, I prefer to send a wire or check so there is a record of the transaction personally. Not to mention the seller may feel the need to check each note to make sure it isn't fake.

I would tell the bank in advance. It shouldn't be a problem, but due to tighter internal controls, it might be a bit of a hassle to get the cash, and a heads up could be helpful.

When we bought a car, we opened an currency exchange account with Intercam. There is one in Playa on 10th ave between 12th and Consituyentes.

We wired money from our US account to Intercam's account at Mellon Bank of NY, paying the very reasonable domestic wire transfer fee. Intercam sent the money to Mexico and it ended up in our account with them.

When we selected our car, we had Intercam cut a check to the dealership. No stack of bills to carry around.

You may know me, We go to Playa Maya each December and I have stayed friends with the manager on Facebook. He has a car for sale, I don't know anymore than that but if you stop by Hotel Playa Maya on the beach and ask for Racy, tell him john told you if interested. Good luck
