High rent, very high rent on that corner where Yaxche was located. And check out my post #29 to read what is going on there.

Hey Rubio! Glad to see this thread start up for another year. Remember I want to rent that extra room you got for the night of Jan 4 and 5 if possible. If you get a better offer for longer term, take it though, I can always stay at my usual place. I'm leaving PDC that Friday the 6th for awhile but I'll fill you in when we meet up. Im hoping to be in MX for two months. Really mild here in southern B.C. There hasn't even been frost yet.

I mentioned the names of both new restaurants. The Bird (Parjaro) has moved on to Chiapas. He has the name "Yaxche" for sale should you want to buy it.

I guess you have trouble reading Fatjoe.

Okay, I will say it ain't so....but it is. Yaxche is closed/gone.
The good news is that William, the owner of the former Yaxche will be opening a new restaurant, The PIT, on the NE corner of calle 38 and AV. 1. It should be open in late December. And what a cool jungle setting. You have to see the work being done there!
A "few doors down = east of", Wicho (he started Los Aquachiles, La Finísima Caguamería de Esquina, etc.) will be opening Trujillo Cantina de Selva Cocina Mexicana with the Grand Opening party set for December 10th. This place is really cool looking also. Another "natural" jungle setting.

And ROB it is true.....the price of the Don Simon's fine wine at Sam's Club has shot up to $35 pesos cash or $35.8 pesos on a credit card
At that exhorbitant price you might have to cut back on your wine intake this year

There are some "AS SEEN ON TV" type solutions. If you google reviews on the products though, they're an utter waste of money.

Buy new lenses.
