Looking for AI resort for our guest in Playa

We're planning a wedding for next year and we're looking for a AI resort. Does anyone recommend a moderately priced AI resort for our guest with a nice beach and within walking distance to 5th Ave? I've read the The Reef Coco Beach fits the bill, but have read mixed reviews. Any thoughts on this hotel or sister hotel The Reef?

I can't recommend that hotel, so much so that I won't sell it to my clients. The beach isn't very nice either, lots of boats tied up there. There are better options available in Playacar - anything from Riu Tequila, Viva Maya or Azteca to one of the Riu Palace hotels, Sandos Playacar, Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal - any or ALL would be better options than Reef Coco Beach.

My wife and I were married at the Sandos Playacar in 2010. When we did our research we compared it to The Reef Playacar, Riu Yucatan, Grand Sunset Princess We found facilities and staff at the Sandos Playacar were fantastic. Everyone had a great time. We had a few special requests and the wedding planner went above and beyond to make our day great.

If you have more questions about why we chose what we did just PM and I can explain what our criteria and elimination process was.
