Some here my remember the strict ban on fire-related performances that was put in place by local authorities several years ago, after one such show went awry and resulted in a fire at a couple of establishments. That also held until... well, you know, until it evidently just didn't, anymore, and the fire shows were suddenly back, without any explanation.

That kind of experience is not unusual in Mexico, so I cannot say that I personally would want to put a lot of money on the recent proclamations against this kind of music festival holding idefinitely...

Some of the leases were up.....sign of the times in Playa that beachfront properties will eventually be condos or hotel complexes.

Well here's a good one that somebody just posted about on the TA forum. After being kicked out, the BPM folks have recently taken to telling everyone that "due to instability in the region we will not be returning to Mexico".
