Tax Reform

GOP rep: Border-adjustment tax could 'sink' tax reform | TheHill

Quote:
Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) on Thursday expressed opposition to Speaker Paul Ryan's (R-Wis.) border-adjustment tax proposal, arguing that it could jeopardize the fate of a tax code overhaul.

"I think on policy it’s bad, but even more importantly, I think it will sink tax reform if it’s in there," DeSantis, a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, said on Fox Business. "You will not get the votes, and we have to deliver on healthcare; we have to deliver on taxes."

Here is a policy issue

Birth control coverage is probably about to take a big hit.

This will likely increase the incidence of abortions.

Maybe we should start calling birth control, well, maybe we should call it abortion prevention.

The abortion rate did decrease by quite a bit with the increased Obamacare contraceptive coverage

Trump Rule Could Deny Birth Control Coverage to Hundreds of Thousands of Women

Trump just pulled the pin on the Paris climate accord.
This one should get Roni to at least 72,500.

Why?

It was a cynical decision and I heard that the talk included mention of a study based on assumptions that would never happen in the real world.

Guest commentary: I’m a Kansas City doctor in Australia. Trump is right about Australian health care

Quote:
President Donald Trump, I heartily agree with you when you told Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, “You have better health care than we do.”

You see, I have been both a patient and a doctor in the U.S. and Australia. After working and studying as a family physician in the U.S. for almost 20 years, I landed my dream job working in Australia in 2015. I love working within this excellent health care system where doctors and patients are supported by a program called Medicare. It is similar to American Medicare but covers every Australian of every age for most health care costs.

This graph is a joke. It's not scientific at all. Made up by a couple of conservative christians who call themselves climatologists. Notice how it only goes back 4800 years, which is pretty insignificant in terms of the real age of the earth, but fits quite well into the 6000 year old conservative christian view of how old the earth is. These two are known as unreliable sources in the meteorological community.
