Wifi providers

Looking for recommendations on wifi providers. Just moved to a neighborhood not covered by cable. Had Playa Wireless install an antenna, 900 pesos per month for 2.5 mps connection. But I rarely get that speed and the wifi drops out frequently, like maybe 6 times a day. Super crappy wifi! I know there are others but before I incur another installation bill, hoping someone can point me to a better plan/provider!

Yep, Playa Wireless, their speeds are their maximum on a good day going downhill with a kid pushing. Was the worst internet we ever had. Down every weekend and most days. They kept promising it would get better, never did.

I would think that your main other choices might either be Telmex or IZZI.

Totalplay (Internet - Totalplay) which has adveristed on playa.info is actually not in Playa YET. I have talked with them and they are currently in Cancun with plans, in the near future, to come to Playa. They advertise : "only internet with up to 500 Mbps download speed".

There are other wireless providers.
People bitch about them on Facebook.
But they bitch less about them than they do about Playa Wireless.
I can't recall the names of the providers.
Dave would know. He uses one

I'm not Dave but I have Grupo Sii wireless and they're decent. I paid for 5 down/1 up and usually got close to those speeds. I think the max they offered was 10Mbps

And what does that cost?
Installation/equipment fees?

Well...that monthly fee is much less than the Playa Wireless monthly fee for higher bandwidth.
