Shops?

We're having all of our furniture made by a few woodworkers in the Playa/Tulum area, and we're now looking to fill/decorate our home. A few shops in the Playa area were recommended but I've lost that list. Any favorite shops for decor/
art/stuff?

Well we got tons of stuff to fill our condo from Telebodega. Art there's a few places we checked far side of the highway just across from Chedraui also Casa Latina in the north end has some interesting stuff. There's a place on 5th it makes these hangings out of tree bark it on the second floor on the west side of the street. Around just northof 12th Sometimes just around 14th or 16th on the east side of 5th in the evenings there's an artist that brings their paintings down for display/purchase. There's also a place on 30th that has ceramics and other stuff as well and about between 2 and 4 north.

I'd love to hear where other people find stuff to decorate as we still need some more stuff for our place as well.

Try Galerias El Triunfo
The big blue store on the north end of town on 307.
Just north of the Arco Vial.
They have everything. Junk and nice stuff.
You want a full size fiberglass cow? They have that

Everything that you could ever imagine AND MORE at Galerias el Triunfo.

They have a store on 307 in north Playa. You can get lost in their store in Merida.
Most of their things are from local artists......in China

Yes we spent a couple hours in Galeries el Triunfo and didn't buy a thing which was amazing. Not that we won't in the future...
We've been in most of the furniture and other strip shops along 307 like Casa Latina and they do have some nice decor stuff as well. Thanks for the other ideas as well.

There is a store called "Home" on the highway (righthand side heading south) close to Sams Club. It has lots of art and home decor. It's on the 2nd floor of a "strip mall".

We started at el Triunfo and then south from there all the way to Telebodega. Like, 10 times! Really like the stuff at Kokko next to Casa Latina. Pricey though. Furniture was a challenge so we ended up having some stuff made too. Funny thing is...lamps. So hard to find a good lamp and when you do...$$$!

Yes - Lamps!!!
My wife wants to take 2 brass (heavy) Stiffel lamps down that have been in the family for generations, so I've taken them apart and carefully packed them filling two carry-ons (read Heavy! ). But she also cannot find lampshades and they're being shipped separately (read Expensive! ).

Previously (2 yrs ago) had shipped a granite composite sink that was not available in the area, it was smashed enroute and we shipped a second. Also shipped a drop-in grill that was not available there then. Now they're both available of course...

We've found some nice stuff in the Las America mall in Cancun as well, and any recommendations there are also welcome. We usually arrive CUN before noon and will head to Costco and/or the mall before driving down to our place.
