Hijacked bus

Two hijackers rob 46 passengers aboard Cancún-Mérida ADO bus - The Yucatan Times

Hope this doesn't start a trend. Crime and murders way up in Mexico so far this year.

Well, the airlines have air marshalls now so maybe ADO & the other bus companies need to get bus marshalls.

Probably not a bad idea.
The same thing happened on a bus from San Cristobol de las Casas to Palenque.
A bus full of German tourists.

Maybe armed marshals on calle 12 are a higher priority...

Apparently the gunmen were frustrated that they couldn't get an audience with their target and just fired at random into the crowd. I'm not sure if they hit locals or tourists.

Not in this case.

Around 10:00 p.m. three suspected sicarios arrived at that nightclub in order to execute the manager, but failed in their attempt. The assassins opened fire against the crowd that were inside, injuring three people, one of whom died this morning at the IMSS hospital in Playa del Carmen.

Crowd is a very loose term in that case... I didn't think they are even open yet at 10pm and if so, there definitely isn't a crowd.

That's what I was thinking, there's no one there at 10 that I have seen. Except for setup for the night.

Either way its not good for business. How can that owner continue after that happened.

Bad stuff with these cartels now hanging banners saying the mayor is protecting other criminals ,and will die soon . Something is stirring ,hopefully it doesn't boil over

Good point, maybe it was staff or later than 10pm, I really don't know.

In more of the same - 15 year old carrying a gun was arrested at La Cucaracha where he was going to carry out an execution.

Not that it makes the bus story any better, but The Yucatan Times apparently is notorious for getting its info wrong, and the bus was a 2nd class Oriente bus that makes stops in all the local pueblos, generally full of workers from the Riviera Maya going home and it's not the first time a bus of this sort (robbing people going home w/their paychecks from working all week) has been robbed for the same reason. Not like the robbery targeted tourists, but even worse - targeting hardworking families.

I thought something was familiar about this because I remember on these busses getting held up like 6 months ago. Sounds like the exact same bus. Recycled news replacing fake news?
