did the child live,,,i havent been following it but i heard about the man and woman being shot, but i thought i heard there was a very young child shot with them and the child was put in a car and rushed to the hospital....

no matter how it played out, very tragic, and my heart goes out to the family and relatives involved, but i was just curious

The tainted booz was the last straw for my wife. I had her talked in to going to an AI but between that and the gang action in town Mexico in general is now not a place she will go.

That's a shame considering that whole tainted alcohol story is an attempt to force a couple of hotels to settle for $ on accidents suffered by drunken guests.

You're relying on misinformation from questionable sources on social media and travel forums rather than the official reports. The hype and fake news media blitz has been unbelievable.

Not sure what you are saying, but we are definitely very concerned about the new norm in Playa and the vicinity. We certainly didn't expect to see this violence when we bought a home near Playa two years ago...

And we certainly wouldn't advise anyone to ignore or disregard this violence, or any other unsafe developments. I do understand the continued murders being a huge concern for anyone looking at Playa as a destination today. We'll be there next week and friends will be joining us for their first visit to Mexico. You can imagine the questions they have about the violence.

But people who were looking at AI resorts near Playa ands are now changing or making different travel plans based solely on the misinformation that was put out there on the "tainted" alcohol is a real shame...

We're here in playa right now. Been here all week and we've been coming for over 10 years. Fortunately we have seen no discernible difference in crime or threats. No doubt something is likely going on but I think if you're not prt of the drug scene or maybe even the club scene not sure you'll be any more impacted than back home, wherever home maybe. If you're concerned about anything I would suggest being concerned about the pace of development here. Not sure the environment is a first priority here anymore if it ever was. Regardless at this time I wouldn't hesitate to come down.

Thanks, we're just watching the news like everyone else. We won't change any plans based on the current situation and expect to enjoy our time there too. Just a new trend, and we'd prefer to see it fizzle out rather than grow...
