In the airport now, flying out on Frontier, T3 as usual. However the Frontier folks said at check-in that they may be operating out of T4 as early as next week.

T4, by the way, is around by T1. (New signage is already in place indicating this on the road in.)

Our next flight out will be in June, 2018 barring any family emergencies. Nonstop to London. Plenty of time to figure out before then, and I always get to the airport in plenty of time for contingencies.

I arrived today via Westjet from Calgary, Alberta Canada. We landed at Terminal 3. They did announce that those with 2 week departure would be leaving by Terminal 4.

No more customs forms!!

CANCUN AIRPORT OFFICIALLY ELIMINATES CUSTOMS FORMS, TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM
NOVEMBER 3, 2017 ALMA RUEDA
Cancun, Q.R. — Travel into Cancun has become faster and more simplified with the elimination of both the traffic light baggage check system and custom’s declaration forms.

The removal of the traditional traffic light baggage check system along with customs forms, is part of the modernization of the state’s new Terminal 4 at the Cancun International Airport. Officially inaugurated at the end of October, the new Terminal 4 is fully outfitted with modern technology that allows for the elimination of the old processes.

In their place, passengers will have their luggage scanned, unopened, via a state-of-the-art X-ray machine that will decrease entry time and increase passenger flow into the country. The new mobile x-ray scanning process is in conjunction with the Federal Police.

The new entry system into the Cancun International Airport began November 1 and is being extended to include international travelers arriving at Terminals 2 and 3 on flights originating from the United States, Canada and Europe.

In April, a test model was initiated at the Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City where they eliminated the traffic light baggage check system and custom’s declaration process. Officials had noted that if their tests were successful, the system would eventually expand to the Cancun International Airport.

They are hoping to expand the new system to other high-traffic airports around Mexico including Los Cabos, Guadalajara and Monterrey, who together with Mexico City and Cancun, receive approximately 85 percent of air passengers entering the country.

What timing for you to leave Alberta. I get to go home after work and shovel a bunch of snow.

Shovelling snow is probably more exciting than watching the Oilers play
