Far left people supported Bernie or a third party, I did neither.

I am the guy who has been calling for a new centrist political party for years (here on the forum). A party whose positions and actions would be based on science and facts. That is very different than what we have now, and you seem to be generally supportive of what we have now.

I am the guy who has voted for Democrats and Republicans in major races.

You have not shown evidence of being a centrist, but we are open to such evidence.

There are none. Tough to defeat an ideology. If you go the route you suggested, then they have won. They will have fundamentally changed our way of life and the very freedoms we enjoy.

Increased security is one thing. Mass extermination??? Please explain where that begins and ends.

For some reason they didn't think that a pedestrian area in the shadow of Freedom Tower was a potential security risk. Would that have prevented a terrorist from finding another way to kill and hurt people? No. I never even argued that. It would have prevented this tragedy. Period.

Barriers would stop nothing IF this guy was hell bent on killing people. What about this don't you get?

Go read his interactions on General Playa del Carmen threads. You would save those words for him.

You are wrong. Barriers would have prevented him from driving the truck down the bike path.

He could have chosen another target, you are right about that, but it seems wise to reduce, with minimum impact to the public, soft targets. That is what we did with air travel.

I already stated that if this terrorist wanted to kill people he would probably have been able to find a way. NYC didn't have to hand him an easy target. I don't think you get it or understand the nuance of my issue but carry on and continue to miss my point.

Are you really that stupid? Barriers stop people from driving car bombs into protected buildings every day. Most of our embassies use them. You think they are for decoration? You put them up along specific bike paths and cars can't go through them. Therefore, those cars can't hit people riding on them. That does not mean the same thing as he couldn't have used a IED or a hand grenade or S&W or any other means to kill. It just means he couldn't have used a truck. How hard is that to understand?

Seriously? Terrorist: Hhhmmm....Think I want to kill some infidels today. Uh, no can't do it here, barricades on the street. Okay then, I'll go over here on this street and mow them down!

You can't barricade the entire city!! If someone wants to kill people they will find a way!

Probably ought to do away with security at airports, cops on the highways, red lights, ad nauseam.

Think of it this way. Having those barriers up would funnel them into locations where you and Sogno could exterminate them!

Yeah, you're probably right.... I mean those barriers are certainly going to stop terrorist attacks....
