Sadly, the best place to get Tamales around here is in Mexico City. I look forward to seeing the recommendations and trying to find some here as well...

Had a lot of meals on CTM, and never a bad one. Love that street.

Yes.

There's on on av 30 around Mega. Very good if you don't mind the runs

It's on the NW corner of Av 30 and Calle 12 bis (in front of the fabric store), one block south of Mega on the opposite side of 30th - been there for years. To avoid any problem with the runs, whenever I buy food on the street I get it "para llavar" and take it home and microwave it hot before eating - just in case. Works just fine.

In front of Telas Assis on 30th, too. During the mornings, another vendor sells some of the best cochanita in town.

You can also find tamales vendors in front of a lot of Oxxos in neighborhoods. There is one in front of the Oxxo in Santa Fe who sells some pretty decent tamales with mole after around 8PM.

Not familiar with CTM ? What does that stand for? Is it walkable from Mega?
Thanks

CTM is the street between Calle 44 and Calle 48; i.e., Calle 46 but named CTM.
It would be about a 9 block walk from MEGA to C.T.M.
