Time to break out the handy "Mass shooting in US checklist":
1. Send thoughts & prayers but not actually do anything useful
2. Argue over semantics of the term "assault rifle"
3. Argue over semantics of the term "terrorist" - if Muslim, use it. If Christian/white, use term "lone wolf", “mentally ill" or “troubled past"
4. Congress does nothing but NRA increases donations just in case.
5. Wait for next one - rinse - repeat.

You forgot 1. Before bodies are cold, offer narratives on social media.

The cold-blooded murder of a group of church-goers? First thing I am offering is prayers. To claim they are useless is like spitting in the face of the victims.

Conflating acts of terror by foreign nationals or immigrants representing groups with whom we have have been at war with for years with mass shootings carried out by American citizens is incredibly obtuse and potentially dangerous but it obviously serves a political purpose for the left in attacking who they perceive to be the real enemy. But, in this incident the shooter was not a Christian/white male but rather an Atheist/white male, which would also seem to apply to the Vegas shooter. So why not talk about attacks by mass shootings by atheists, or mass shootings by atheists against Christians, or does that not suit the narrative?

Now, how do we stop that from happening in the future? Reinstitute the waiting period to better review the application? I can live with that. if I don't have a gun right now, what is another 3-4 days wait? If it's that imperative that I get a gun "right now" then I'm 1) up to no good or 2) need to have protection...call the police, seek help.

If more comes out of this investigation that he too used a bump stock...more fuel to get rid of them. Though good luck rounding them up...that horse left the barn. Same with high capacity mags.

Why not finger printing? There are any number of reasons to be finger printed...one of which is a criminal offense. Why aren't finger prints included in a national back ground check to buy a gun? print scanners are cheap and abundant now. Seems like they could be added to the requirement to "legally" purchase a gun.

Banning assault weapons...yeah. The whole "what is an a assault weapon" argument. And, again...good luck rounding them up!

I'll say it again, as a gun owner. Most level headed gun owners are OK with some limitations/rules. Unfortunately, this too will turn into a hard right versus hard left argument and "level headed" will go out the window.

One out of every 14 people in Sutherland Springs were killed or wounded in the attack, according to reporting.

Think about that and let it sink in for a bit.

25 praying people are shot and killed.
And you are offering prayers for what?
And yes, I am claiming they are useless unless it makes you feel better to do it.

WHY would a person do this?

Another mass murder in a church while people were praying. How useful are those prayers?

That is because you are a disgruntled ex-Christian with a huge hard-on for those of us who do have faith.

I pray for the souls of the victims. I pray that their families can find some strength and peace. I pray that people can find some common ground and actually do something instead of pointing fingers blaming Muslims or the NRA and acting like that is action.

The shooter illegally owned a gun & was stopped by a legal gun owner.
