Tequila Barrel

Any updated info on the construction of the new building/casino? I had read in the past the initial plan was to have the new building open by the new year. Is that still the case. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

No, it won't be open this year. I would guess sometime in February MAYBE. Or maybe by the end of high season would probably be more like it.
The steel frame work structure is in the process of being put up.

I think you can do all of your sports betting at the WinPot Casino in Plaza Las Americas.

Actually just go and bet on 15th and 10th ave. Casino there has a sportsbook. After you make your bet come watch the games at Sr. Dan's and enjoy some cold beers while watching your team win you some cash!

Wow... walking by, I always just thought that's where you would go to get murdered. Just looked it up and saw they have a legit casino in there with live poker. The wife is not gonna be happy about this development.

We stayed in that block this past March at La Pasion hotel, and I agree with this assessment of how it looks from the outside.

Sketchy, dark, gloomy, shady looking doormen/bouncers...no thanks

Very safe spot. You have lots of tourists in playing cards, table games, slots or betting on sports. No drug dealers in the bathrooms or inside. Very nice people work there. The doormen are very nice and not rough at all and late at night will come outside and help get a taxi if needed.

Yup. These guys even got me a taxi once and I never even went to the casino. They saw me waiting on the other side of 15 trying to flag one down and came over to help.

I'll take your word for it.

Mexican casinos are one place I will continue to give a wide berth to, after the Zetas Monterrey attack...... in general they tend to attract.... a certain element. Nice doormen notwithstanding.

You are so assuming the wrong things. It is laughable. I could understand if you feel against gambling but for you to assume because of one incident at a casino that all are bad is crazy. So every church i should not go to because there was a shooting there. Too funny!

I have no interest in the casino but for everyone here it is a very safe place so do not listen to people who make assumptions!
