@Steve71: Time's up. You need to make a full apology here and now in this forum or get sued in federal court. Deleting your posts (like you did with your other posts) is not sufficient to avoid a lawsuit - I've already copied them, and they will be used against you. Here's where you stand:

Quote:
Wikipedia - Defamation per se
All states except Arizona, Missouri, and Tennessee recognize that some categories of false statements are so innately harmful that they are considered to be defamatory per se. In the common law tradition, damages for such false statements are presumed and do not have to be proven.

Statements are defamatory per se where they falsely impute to the plaintiff one or more of the following things:

Allegations or imputations "injurious to another in their trade, business, or profession"
Allegations or imputations "of loathsome disease" (historically leprosy and sexually transmitted disease, now also including mental illness)
Allegations or imputations of "unchastity" (usually only in unmarried people and sometimes only in women)
Allegations or imputations of criminal activity (sometimes only crimes of moral turpitude)
Your call.

I received the following PM today.

Ok, to be fair, I have deleted all my posts about you, plus the link I posted the other day. However you insulted me first, that's why I insulted you back. That's all.
Since you mentioned it, let me ask you a question, why did this Dr. Diez organize all of this in the first place? If you don't mind me asking.

No hard feelings

Steve
Thank you.

My initial 'insult' was agreeing with another poster that your initial postings sounded way out of line. I'm guessing that you thought they might be funny, so your attempted humor came across differently than you intended - it happens to all of us.

No, I don't mind your asking - the Mexican doctor was offended that I was a foreign know-it-all doctor who countermanded his prescription for giving a 3-month-old baby an injection of anti-gonorrhea meds every day for three days for a common intestinal complaint (if his diagnosis was correct - I simply went along with what they told me it was), and told them that the CDC-recommended treatment was a liquid antibiotic placed under the baby's tongue (so he wouldn't spit it out).

He started calling me at all hours of the day and night telling me he was the president of the Medical Board of Playa, then verbally assaulted me on the street out of the blue after following me around town. I invited him to a meeting with the director of the clinic that hired me to work under his credentials, a common practice in Mexico, and he came to the meeting and disagreed with everything that was said - after the 15 minute meeting when everybody else had gone through the door, he came over to me and and tried to throw me to the ground (I wasn't aware he was so worked-up), then he ran out of the room and I ran after him and body-blocked him into the wall, telling everybody else what happened. A few weeks later he set up the false arrest with the police in the usual Mexican manner. After I showed my papers, the charges were dropped. The full account is in my post.

I appreciate your PM, and will post it on the thread. See you for a beer at Zenzi's sometime. Suerte

Thanks for sharing that. After I read your post I was really interested in what happened back then
with that doctor. Sounds like the guy was a bit (or really) out of it, wasn't he?
I am heading back home in 3 days for Christmas and New Years but will be back in Mexico in January. Will be seeing you then for that beer at Zenzi, OK?!
Again, no hard feelings & talk son

Best regards

Stece
My reply:

C'est la vie. Safe journey.

They are called “private messages” for a reason.
Turning a personal matter into a public matter.
Just sayin’.

You say wrong. The PMs were in response to false and highly defamatory information posted on this thread, i.e., a clearly public matter, for which the original poster manfully seeks to make amends through his PMs, and were posted accordingly.

Curious, did you sue Business Wire?

No, they reported the Medical Board's revocation of my license, relying on the information officially reported to them by the Medical Board in 2003, so no grounds to sue them. My appeal against the Medical Board based on the improper actions of its Administrative Judge went nowhere in San Francisco Superior Court (2005), the Court of Appeal (2006), and the California Supreme Court (2007). Based on newly discovered evidence, I refiled in federal court in July 2016, but was rejected for 'failure to state a case' (i.e., poor writing skills) and I was allowed to amend and refile. I refiled in July of this year and am awaiting the court's acceptance of the case and a jury trial. If I knew how to post the amended case as a link, I would post it here (although it's an odd place to post it - my apologies to teebee) - but I don't know how to do that and the 35-page amended complaint takes up a lot of space.

I say correctly.

If this goes to jury trial, do you believe any of the jurors may quietly wonder to themselves why it is you've decided to move to Mexico, and take up residence there? Odd case, I may add. Frightening is an understatement to learn that one could lose their medical license over false accusations.

I clearly state in my complaint that I was forced into involuntary retirement by the Medical Board and moved to Mexico because what I get from Social Security wouldn't rent a doghouse in the US. Any case involving fraud upon the court by a judge is an odd case.

(The complaint is too long, bulky, and difficult to read in this format, and I shouldn't have posted it in the first place, so I deleted it. Apologies to teebee for hi-jacking the thread)

Sorry, I may have missed it - so your license was not revoked?
