What if the media first named it a nor'easter? I guess it should just be called a storm.

So, the weather you have been having in CA is definitive proof of manmade global warming/climate change? How's that work? Climate has been changing since the beginning of time. From the last Ice Age to now, the planet has warmed. Now, apparently, it is starting to cool again. I saw today that some scientists are claiming (and this is for real) that the reason sea levels have not risen as much as "the models" predicted is because the sea floor has actually sunk.

Now, when you have to go to that level of ridiculousness to convince me that you were right and having changed your models, and the name (warming to change), and falsified data and claimed consensus where there is none because you cooked the survey to only count papers that support the idea, well, you lose me. Al Gore says Michael Mann (of fake hockey stick fame) says that this cold weather is exactly where we should be with his predictions, although he has published no such articles showing that. I am nowhere near convinced and the more the silliness, fraud and outright lies are exposed, the further away I get. I am not denying it but the team they put on the field to prove it is worse than the Browns. Al Gore wanted us to spend more money on researching why the cold streak. I think it better to buy some sleeping bags for those out on the street.

If you don't believe in climate change, then you don't believe in thermometers.

I thought this might mean we could leave early, but the crazy man I've agreed to marry said he'd still fish at dawn without the shanty. I only like to hang out on the ice when the heater's on and there are those little padded bucket seats and booze.
I totally don't get this!! Regular fishing is painful enough for me....all that baiting, and waiting, and lines getting tangled and caught on weeds, catching little perch and throwing them back....

totally escapes me. When I'm out on the boat I want a drink, snacks, friends, or a book...

I agree both with Mike W and PDS on this.

To be fair, all Mike said was that climate change exists (well, yeah- always has) and "humans have something to do with climate change and are accelerating the rate of global temperatures"- which I think you have to admit, PDS, is also factually true. The question of 'how much' we are affecting it, and more importantly, what really can we do about it, is the controversial part.

Projected world population by 2050- 9.8 billion. 11.2 billion by 2100.

That is just plain too many people. We have finite resources and we do make a helluva lot of pollution and damage.

A cursory view of the article you posted reveals it for the nonsense that it is. The claim of global temperature readings increasing by values shown to two decimal places requires accurate temperature readings to five-thousandths (.005) of a degree. I don't believe that the thermometers used and their placement, certainly those that I have seen pictures/videos of at various collection site around the world, would suffice to provide this level of accuracy.

Damn, so NASA is spreading nonsense, I always suspected those pictures from the moon were faked.

There are many claims against NASA and I would normally provide some examples but when you asked for links regarding the guns from Fast and Furious being involved in the slaughter of teens at a birthday party and young men in a rehab center, you never even acknowledged the fact I posted them. So, look it up yourself.

amazing to think that in the 1880s they had all those global thermometers in place already!

I wouldn't say they were 'spreading nonsense', I trust NASA- but I'm not sure we are talking about totally reliable readings they would be extrapolating from. Are there more thermometers today than there were 134 years ago? Are the newer ones all in urban areas so would have the urban heating effect, or are they scattered for more accuracy?

I am not a climate change denier, but I do have doubts about the predictions or the amount mankind is really impacting global climate, that's all. So much of what people crow about as 'proof of climate change' is really just 'weather'.

People including Trump need to get educated about the difference between weather and climate.
