Which Bank to pay INM fees

After a week on the road, we finally made it to Playa on Thursday. Went to the INM office yesterday to finalize our temporary resident visas. They gave us a link to follow to print a receipt showing the fee for the visa. Now, we have to take this receipt to the bank to pay it.

Is there a specific bank anyone recommends? Or a specific one that HAS to be used?

Kris

Most any bank.
There is a CiBanco below immigration.

Thanks Babaloo! I'll try that bank first. Do you know if we have to pay in cash? That's a lot of pesos to withdraw.

How much are you paying? My renewal is $3951 pesos. I don't remember the first year being much more than that.

Yes, it's $3951 for each of us, so almost 8K total in pesos. I'm pretty sure that's over the single withdrawal limit, so may just have to do multiple ATM trips.

We can get 12,000 from CiBanco.

Went to Scotiabank since it was on the way from the condo. Were able to withdraw 10K pesos from the ATM. Went in and the clerk knew exactly what to do. Took 5 minutes to pay our INM fees and after making copies at an internet cafe, we were off to INM. Spent less than an hour total at INM. The only hiccup was that my husband's signature on some of the paperwork did not match his passport. He had to run our real quick and print off new copies but they were super nice and let us just come back to the counter without waiting in line again. We have our NUT numbers and hopefully can spend the next few weeks on the beach while we wait for the next step!!!
