Am hearing there is a problem and no water will be available in and around Playa for a matter of days, any details available? Is there a source for updates?

Aguakan water restricted in Cancun, Playa del Carmen
BY RIVIERA MAYA NEWS ON JANUARY 30, 2018
"Cancun, Q.R. — Aguakan is reminding residents of Cancun and Playa del Carmen that water services throughout both communities is restricted due to electrical issues.
For Playa del Carmen, water issues began Monday afternoon due to an electrical breakdown. Augakan crew have been working on the problem since it was detected and are advising all area residents to restrict the use of water until further notice. The company says water for the city of Playa del Carmen should be back on and flowing by 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
AGUAKAN informs the community that climatic conditions resulted in the fall of electric blades in the catchment area, so the supply of drinking water will be affected throughout the municipality of Solidaridad.
Our brigades are working on site to solve it as soon as possible.
We recommend to make RATIONAL USE of stored water in order to reduce or avoid inconveniences while they conclude the works. We will keep residents informed on the advances in this respect.
For any additional information related to these tasks or about your drinking water and sewer service, AGUAKAN reminds you that you can call the customer service line 073 or (984) 873 0145.
You can visit the official Aguakan announcement on social media."

You are probably fine. If they have a cistern.

A New Wrinkle on the Aguakan Water Situation

From today's Riviera Maya News:
"Mayor says process to end Aguakan concession to begin next month
BY ISABELLA DAVIS, FREELANCE WRITER ON FEBRUARY 1, 2018
Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — City mayor Cristina Torres Gómez says that that legal proceedings to terminate the Aguakan concession will begin next month.
The mayor says that the documents required to start the process will formally be presented by February 15 at the latest, adding that the document is based on citizen complaints for poor quality and service. She added that the document also addresses the company’s lack of emergency plan to deal with contingencies.
The first step in the process will be to seek a “rescission of the contract through the administrative courts,” and that the process will go ahead regardless of whether or not CAPA presents the requested diagnosis of Aguakan’s services.
Torres Gómez said that later, there will be a trial process for citizens to be witnesses and submit irregularities or excessive charges they had during the administration of the concessionaire, which is one of the most frequent complaints received in the state of Quintana Roo.
Since the beginning of her government, Cristina Torres began with a series of actions against the company Aguakan due to the large number of citizen complaints about excessive prices and poor service."

Sooooo....what does this mean? Ongoing water disruption????
Funnily enough we wake up...no water. Concierge says there isn't enough water and no electricity and it is all over. BUT...when people complain he says he will turn it on for 20 min. Then the water truck comes and we have water.
Just seems very strange. More like an payment issue than an electrical issue or me just not understanding what the hell is going on...

We've had no shortage of water yet we have a 2000l cistern over head which was filled well past the top yesterday. But the condo beside us has been getting water delivered every 2 hours for the past couple of days.
