This should be an easy one...I hope (Fried/Garlic Shrimp)

I had this in the restaurant forum but hoped I'd get a more complete response here. Thanks in advance

We're going to be back in town in May and would like to find a good preferably local restaurant for fried and/or garlic shrimp.
We usually have to go with one of the restaurant's on 5th but would like to find one less touristy.
We'll be staying in the north end and like El Fogon, Piola and Quevo de Chango.
Thanks for any suggestions

How far off the beaten path are you willing to go. A 40 peso taxi ride and you can go to

My family's favorite. Always a bit of a line after 1PM on the weekends but everything from the shrimp empanadas and tacos to ceviche to whole fish is good and the prices are a lot lower than downtown.

It is a facebook page. Just search the name in facebook and it will show.

As far as the menu goes, it is like a little book so I have never taken photos of it as it would end up being like 8 - 10 photos.

Shrimp

I thought there would be more than these two options...
El Pirata and Los Aguachilies. for fried or garlic shrimp off of 5th.
Doesn't El Pirata close like crazy early too? I seem to remember it was around 4:30 or 5:00.
We'll check out Los Aguachilies, the reviews are great and it's close too !
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

El Pirata on Calle 40 has been closing later, like 8ish I think.

Los Aquachiles is very good although I personally prefer Chiltepin https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...Peninsula.html
and
Chiltepín Marisquillos

Los Aquachiles and Chiltepin are located on Calle 34 with Chiltepin on the NW corner of Calle 20 and Los Aquachiles at the SE corner of Calle 25

Both of those are great but not what popped to mind when asked for "good preferably local restaurant for fried and/or garlic shrimp." When I think of those two, I think more tacos/tostadas.

You are correct. I didn't read the complete post #10 as to the garlic/fried shrimp as are both mentioned.

Carboncitos has great shrimp. They have this appetizer with large shrimp and peppers in butter garlic sauce and it is amazing. Not super cheap it’s right off 5th but goooood

Doesn't really meet the OP's wish for a "less touristy" place, or north end.

Amazing, you say.

Any other suggestions?
