Just curious, as I was looking at this field at one point.
1) yes depends on the salesman
2) avg for the nation is around 10
3) there is no minimum persay...depends on work ethic and drive to get better...if a guy sits around and doesnt sell anything and wont put forth an effort...hes out
if effort is put in and they are trying well then its my fault for not teaching and coaching them so we continue to work with them..

some stats on selling cars..

avg..10 units for around $29000.00 the avg saleman spends 9 hours a day at the dealership but only works 2-3 a day and earns $29000.00 a year..

break it down..75.6 hours actualy worked in a month it works out to about $31.00 per hour...so if your work ethic is way above avg. then you can make alot of money...we have sales people that make $150,000.00 a year...just depends on drive and desire to be great...develope skills.use the right scripts..

Toyota for a College Girl

Hi Tommy,
This thread is awesome! Lots of good info from (obviously) folks in the know. I, too, WILL NOT haggle with a dealership. I'm an accountant...and know the price of money. I'm also a CU member here in Ft. Worth. I'm looking for a used Toyota, something low miles, sporty, for my daughter to drive to TCU in the fall. Want to spend $11-12K, will finance over 3 yrs. She likes the Celica style, but we haven't found any here locally. Please give me your thoughts--and is this something you could help us with? Hey, we're in Houston frequently and don't mind the drive from Cowtown for a good deal. I trust your judgement...being a tenured PDC forum member, and all. BTW, we leave Friday for a week in PDC paradise. Grad trip for the daughter (gotta luv that they wanna party with the old folks )

Appreciate any suggestions!

Yup! Could be Auto Love..

Tommy,
Email the mug shots. You have my interest. We were waiting until OCT when her truck is paid off, but I'll be out of the lease-from-hell on my 2000 Corolla (looonnng story ) in July, so have some wiggle room. We're at TCU for 2 days to learn how to be broke college parents, then off to PDC on Friday. But, will be online next couple of nights to get my board fix before we leave. I feel like we've already been there...thru your pics. Great job! I honor your wisdom, O great Sunseeker Peep.
