Are you Buying A Car?

After 15 years in the Car Biz. I see people everyday who dont have a clue about car prices and Financing options...and as a result Pay way to much for there dream car...hell I have made a living for many years off of peoples inpulse buying habbits...So I am trying to give back but only to Forum Members and I guess the Guest who dont become members...As a member of the forum I am extending you the one thing I do claim to be an EXPERT on....

although many of us live in different parts of the country and world from each other I will not be able to help everyone...If you live in the United States I pretty much can help you with most things...I certainly can help you with questions about financing and options...as well as Credit issues and the such...

I can get you new car Invoice pricing on FORD, NISSAN, TOYOTA and if you live in south Texas I would love to give you the Playa Info Forum Family hook a brother up deal....

as well as pricing I can get you current Incentives and Rebates on the different models...

any questions??? POST AWAY and we will make this public Knowledge for all interested....

I too am in the car biz, Tommy. I am in the fixed-ops end of the dealership, though, so I don't know a whole lot about your end.... What dealership do you work for? I have a friend down in Houston who you may know. Ever heard of Dealer Accents?

I work for Fazeli Mitsubishi(new owner), formerly Hiley, and Big Billy Barrett Mitsubishi. I am the parts director/manager. Been here for about 7 years now. Just hired a new guy, who came from Bankston Nissan, you've probably heard of them... Are you in finance or sales?

Hey Tommy!

Mr. Shammy has been waiting on a new car for a while now. Seems I keep spending his deposit money on vacations. But it's something that we have to do pretty soon (although I've been pricing vacations again!).

He also works for a car dealer, Circle BMW in Shrewsbury, NJ, as a parts rep.
BTW...they have great internet pricing and I'm sure I could hook anyone that has a Beemer up with wholesale pricing on parts so just lemme know.

Anyhoo...he has his heart set on a Honda Element, and it MUST be the orange one!!! Must be or he doesn't want it. We've done alot of research, looked at the invoices and know the car buying game in and out. We're people who a dealer would NOT be making money off of!
We have walked into the dealership and told them that we will pay "X" amount for this car, take it or leave it and we are always fully prepared to walk out the door. We won't spend hours going back and forth with the whole "Let me run this by my sales manager" thing...that salesman we're dealing with knows what he can let that car go for and we don't like getting jerked around with all that nonsense.

Get where I'm comin from?

But we still are not 100% sure what we should go in and offer the guy flat out. He's looking for the top of the line model, the one with the sunroof, sticker price of $21, something something. Any ideas?

Now...I have also tried to get him to look at the new Scions, the XB model. Comes in orange too! And yes, they do sort of resemble one of the cars the clown would pile out of at the circus so it fits him perfectly.
But he thinks it wouldn't have as much power (being a 1.4 liter engine and all) so he's a little timid about it. As I'm sure you know, they have a set pricing thing with the Scions so no wheeling or dealing allowed.

What are your thoughts buddy?

needed: 4 door, 2 wheel drive, 4cylinder family hauler. Must have air bags for driver and front passenger. Ideally it will be a Honda CRV. 5-8 years old is fine.

drive it to Mexico and you'll get cash for it.

Shammy..we have a Scion dealership here as well since we are Toyota...We happen to have a orange Scion Xb in stock...you are right it is not the peppiest car out there but what do you want for around $16500.00 new??? The element is a great vehicle and one that will last...I can tell you this..I thrive on the type of customer you are...NO BS..Thats how I prefer to deal...I can also tell you that 95% of the sales people out there do not know what Price they can take...We sell anywhere from 300-400 cars a month and every deal is different...I would offer them $100.00-$300.00 over inoice on an Element..that is a good deal in the Houston Market which is the second largest car market in the country behind California...Tell them you want to see the factory Invoice and offer the $100.00 over less any Incentives...If you need I have friends here that run a Honda store and I can get you the Invoice Price If needed...They shouldnt have any problem dealing straight with you....I would do this if you really want to make it simple....Go in to the Dealership between 9-5 mon-fri ask for the Gm or GSM they will ask what its about tell them you have a matter you would preffer to speak to them about...when you get them just tell them that you have done your research and that you have had a bad experience in the past and preffer to deal with someone in charge...tell them what you want to pay...The $100.00 over and you would like to take delivery today...the deal will happen very Quickly and it will be the best expirience you ever have....Good luck....I can tell you that The country is going to be off about 700,000 units this year compared to last year and every dealer is taking deals that they would have passed on a few years ago...prior to 9/11
