Music? we no need no stinkin music! The beach would have its own song with sea, wind, and birds as the top performers.
I would let the whole lot go down with the ship.....the first thing I would grab is the Machete. See you on shore!!

ELECTRA,

Don't go breakin' the rules, boy.

I'm digging the responses, so far. Soon, maybe we should each name our favorite 1 or 2 tracks from each album, and I, in the spirit of brotherly and sisterly grooviness will burn those onto a CD and mail them out to y'all.

"The Hits of PlayaInfo"

Keep 'em coming...

Last time I checked, James A.

and many many more....

like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, Santana, Clapton, BB King, Buddy Guy, Tab Benoit, Robert Cray, Joe Walsh, Susan Tedeschi, Jeff Beck, The Allman Brothers (LIVE at the Fillmore East), ZZ Top, Barry Manilow**...etc, etc....

Classical Gas - Mason Williams
W*O*L*D* - Harry Chapin (Or almost anything by this inspired troupadour)

Now THAT'S diverse!!

(For you youngsters, these selections come from the almost pre-electric era. Y'know, like when you had to watch TV by candlelight )

Paying attention indeed, Cuff. A formidable line up. You are obviously the quintessential axe fan. I'm impressed with the breadth of you knowledge. I offer Randy Bachman, Oscar Lopez, Ralf Illenberg, Stanley Jordan, Ottmar Liebert, Earl Klugh, and my all-time favourite - Lee Ritenour. Obviously, my tastes run a little more to the jazzy side.

As for your other note about Harry Chapin, I'm a major fan. He came to Winnipeg just about every year, and we never missed him. You're right about Tom & Stephen as well. They're real talents, as are Big John Wallace, whatever young lady was playing cello for him any particular year, and the rest of his band, though there was certainly never any doubt about who was the main attraction. We saw him perform here about three weeks before he was killed. I have waited in vain for someone to emerge to assume the mantle, but we've never been able to find an heir. A shame.
