Real Mexican food when you want it

We often get asked where to go in Playa to get good Mexican food.

Recently, Guus and Monica of Posada Freud took over the space next door to La Rana Cansada, naming it La Adelita. They serve nothing but authentic local cuisine, prepared fresh, clean, and tasty! If you want a local experience, there's nothing like going to La Rana for a couple drinks, and ordering some chiles rellenos, or tacos de cochinita pibil with your draught beer.

If you are a gringo and just don't know what to order, go next door to La Rana and ask anybody there what the deal is. Hopefully they will soon add a gringo menu so everyone will be able to pick what they want.

Good stuff.

La Adelita is located on 10th Street between 5th and 10th avenues.

Cleveland

Yep, that's the Cleveland - I know Lakewood fairly well - a diverse and charming place to be.

Hop in a Cab and tell them where you want to go. Really ... it is the easiest way to get anywhere in PDC if it is not in walking distance. La Adelita is just about in the middle of town. Check you hotel lobby for taxi rates.

La Adelita. Re-read James initial post at the top of this thread, and just give the cross streets to the driver.

May I also suggest you take a peek at the menu at Captain Bob's on 5th Ave around Calle 12. Not what you want if you are looking only for authentic local cuisine, but it was the BEST meal we had this past April. I had the Surf and Turf with lobster and filet migon. My wife had the coconut shrimp. A little on the pricey side, but worth it. The staff was top notch.

Have a Pina Colada for me.
