I have been on the internet for a long time now. At first, my only understanding was a number of news groups. The news groups were mostly used for exchanging information on computer related topics and expanded to include everything from apple picking to sex.

Today the internet is used for email, news reporting, etc. With the faster connection speeds information has gone from text based to graphics based.

I use the internet not only for research of business and personal use, but also for entertainment.

I still find however, that the best use of the internet for me is information. Information about travel destinations, weather, sports scores and restaurants.

That last one is what got me thinking about this. I went out to lunch today to a restaurant that I found on a local forum that discusses local eateries. In fact, some of the best meals I have had over the past few years is because of recommendations from this food forum. The funny thing is I found the food forum from playa.info when the moderator of the board went to playa and posted about it here.

So, what do you think the best use of the internet is to you personally?
