Hi,
I booked a trip to Secrets in Decmber. I am very curious as to what beers are available, I really prefer somthing other than Bud or Corona.
TIA

Hi Again,
My wife also wondered if they provide large towels for the beach and pool, or the small
ones usuallly sees. And what types of White wine are available.
TIA Again,
Shark3359

CANurseGrl,

Thanks for posting! My husband I are in trying to decide whether or not to book Secrets for the fall.

What do you think of the resort? Where is your room located? Is there a particular area we should request or try to avoid? I read somewhere that the main bldg. is noisy.

How is the beach? I've heard mixed reviews.

Hope you post a trip report when you get back! Looking forward to hearing more about your stay at Secrets!

Thanks,
Nancy

Dear Shark3359
Well, there is not only corona, but a great mix of domestic mexican beers here that I have found great. I am not a big beer buff... so I don't can't remember many of them, but what they hand me has tasted great! I will ask my husband if he remembers and get back to you. As far as beach towels go, yes, they have many big blue ones that are perfect for sand and pool both.

Dear Conanc
I am in room 176. I have a jr. suite ocean view, all of these are on the first floor. I think this is the BEST floor to be on because your patio opens up to the beach and pool and you can go in and out of your room during the day through your sliding glass door as you please. There is also just so much more room in the jr. suite. All of the jr. suites have a great view, and I have not found any one side of the resort more noisy or quiet than the other... As far as the beach goes, it is beautiful, but there is clay at the bottom about five feet out, but if you walk five minuets to the right of the resort you have found absolute paradise. I will definately post some pictures when I return. Hope this helps for now! Let me know if you have any other questions!

We were in room 108 (Jr Suite) and I agree with CANurseGrl it was great to walk right out your patio doors. We were right across from the swim up bar, perfect for us. CANurseGrl enjoy, it goes by sooo fast.

p.s., I apologize for my punctuation, this keyboard is broken and many of the keys don't work!

I forgot to talk about wine...
I found a fave white, the chenin blanc from mexico, and honestly have not tried anything else, but if you do not like the six or seven house whites they do have a ok priced al la carte menu.

now, word to the wise, if you are staying here when they are full, right now they are 95% occupied, they will up charge some of the jr suites because they have a better angle view of the ocean, up to an extra $200 per night, $100 if you are on your honeymoon. My now husband and I, we are on our honeymoon , chose to not pay the extra and are truely glad because all of the rooms pretty much have the same view, and it is REALLY not worth the extra $$$... so unless they upgrade you for free <which I know has happend to quite a few people> don't bother!

Also, we ar on the last few days of our 11 here, and will be experiencesing rain for just the last portion of our trip. I do have to say that if you do get rain on your trip here, the resort has been GREAT and goes over a beyond to keep the guests happy and entertained inside the hotel. It was great though, today the rain felt like you were in the shower it was so warm and the entire pool was full of people swiming at the bar and on float beds because it is still 85 degrees out!

CANurseGrl & Robino

Thanks so much for all the info. Can you tell what the rooms are like if you don't have a junior suite? What are the deluxe rooms with tropical or ocean view like?

Also, thanks for posting about the rain. It made me feel a little better. We're still deciding back and forth as to whether we can go in Oct. or Nov. and I was a little nervous because of the rainy season. Nice to know that there is plenty to do in the event of rain.

CANurseGrl -- Congratulations! Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon!
Nancy

I posted my photos of Secrets on this site, just click on MultiMedia (above), and then click on Member Galleries and you will find my photos on page 2 under Robino. The only thing is that they are not in order, not sure how to do that part when uploading. Any suggestions from any of the other Member Galleries out there???

Robino,

Thanks for posting the great photos of Secrets! They are awesome! Wish I was there now....rain or no rain!

I thought of another question....does anyone know what the spa services and prices are at Secrets?

Thanks!

Wow - You are finally there!!!! Been following along with you for months as we too are headed to Secrets but not until September 29th!! You are making me very anxious!

Can't wait to read your trip report when you return. We are currently booked in an Deluxe Oceanview room - we are hoping that the timing of our trip at the end of September will not be as crowded and maybe an upgrade will be possible.

Enjoy and congratulations!!
