Any iPod users out there?
I got an iPod mini for my birthday a couple months ago and love it. In fact, I liked it so much I got my daughter a 15GB 3G iPod for her birthday (and yes I do have iPod envy since her iPod holds 11GB more music than mine).
I have started adding some nice accessories for my iPod like Shure E3 headphones, a Griffin iTrip FM modulator and an iSkin. I was just wondering if there are any other essential iPod accessories I should look into. I have seen some pretty slick car installations that use a docking station hard wired into the car stereo. This idea intrigues me but the fact that I lease cars puts me off the expense of a temporary car solution(permanent solution, temporary car). I think of my iPod the same way I think of PDC. I never thought I would want or like an MP3 player much like I never thought I would like Mexico. Now that I have experienced life with my iPod and PDC, I can't imagine not having them. There is just something about sitting in the house or the car and knowing that I have a device the size of a deck of cards that holds hundreds of my CD's and that I have instant access to sort them by song, artist, album, etc. If anybody is interested there is a great iPod site at http://www.ipodlounge.com JT |

With all your down time at the dealership, this would be a great gift for you. You could then split your time between the iPod geek forums and the playainfo forums. JT |

Yes but variety is the spice of life Tommy. You could always just be a lurker at other forums but not post. As the old saying goes, "just because I'm on a diet doesn't mean I can't look at the menu."
I have several forums I read, but I save my posting for playainfo. I do respect your forum monogomy as I'm sure James does. JT |

For a cheap, temporary car solution, we use a standard CD walkman-cassette tape adapter thing. It's those kind that often come with portable CD players that you plug the cassette tape into your car if the car doesn't have a CD player. The adapter also seems to fit the iPod and works quite nicely. Less than $20.

All accounting to tastes though..LOVED the ipod while the battery was as it had been when new AND remember - not everyone has experienced the same issues...just no aftermarket fix and no warranty on the battery fix by the Manufacturer... -------------------------------------------------------------- Here's another option I like... iriver Last edited by cuffedlinks : 06-13-2004 at 02:40 PM. |

I've got a 40GB Ipod, and can't live without it! My set-up was pretty easy, as my Honda Element has a built-in Aux jack in the dash. So I just bought and old cellphopne holder, and the Belkin Power Adapter, and drive to my tunes!! I'll post some pics in the next day or so.
As far as essential stuff, it would have to be a good case and good earphones. Sounds like you have half of that already. How do you like those Shure E3's? Are they worth the cash? |
