Too much time altogether, mostly, m'dear.

I trust the "wearing black" statement was to get me aroused, rather than as a sign of mourning. I'm pretty sure TMYLW (The Man You Live With) is alive and well. I have two reasons for my conviction. Firstly, I've detected no disturbance in The Force, and he's also been posting on other threads.

(By the way, did that comment on your apparel have anything to do with a phone call you recently received in which a panting, breathless voice inquired, "What are you wearing, dear?" Oops! Did I say that out loud??? Busted!!!)

Was #12 the one about the hands on the clock lining up? If so, I threw it out of my original because I wasn't comfortable with the answer. Editor's privilege.

As far as the spuds go, it's not a perennial because while potatoes may re-seed themselves, it's not the same growth that comes up again, it's a new plant.

Thanks, Crit. You saved me the trouble of having to post the answers. You've obviously seen this one before. You don't get 100% though. Minus one mark for spelling "Niagara" wrong. You also missed the answer to #12, which is that if the catcher drops the ball on the third strike and doesn't throw the runner out at first, the runner gets the base. Yea, I suppose "dweeb" would be considered in common usage these days.

Okay, I will accept that as I forgot #12, But I have since corrected that.

I will have to deduct 9% from your score since you didn't miss it.

Actually I knew about 6 of them, asked Jeeves to help me on the first one, but he didn't know so I ask google, and they had almost the identical quiz there with the answers.

Knowing the answers is not as important as knowing how to find the answers - mostly

I also didn't read all of your reply

Too right, chum. I had a very long, well-paid, and successful career not being paid for what I did, but for what I knew, and for the most part what I knew was who knew what I had to know.

( Wait a minute...U-h-h-h...I think I just confused myself! No...that's what I meant to say...I think? I'm going to take a nap now.)

Interesting question. Chives and scallions are certainly perennials, but are they considered a fruit or a vegetable, or are they a herb, like horseradish, which is also edible and a perennial? This issue is apparently food for thought, but is it a fruit or vegetable for thought, H-m-m-m?

Another answer for #1 could also be, batter gets to take a base as result from a balk by the pitcher.
