My friend and I are coming to PDC for a week, arriving on the evening of Saturday, June 26. Can anyone recommend a decent watering hole that would appeal to two Canadian, baby-thirties females looking for intelligent conversation and very, very cold beer? I believe we're staying towards the southern end of La Quinta if that helps. I have great faith in this wonderfully enthusiastic community!

Bar preferences are obviously a very personal thing, but I'm pretty sure that if you use the "search" feature on the pulldown menu up top, with nightclub as your keyword, you'll find a pretty comprehensive listing of drinking establishments that was posted a while back by JimmyMN. He did a lot of valuable research - no hardship, I'm sure. As for the intelligent conversation, that's a crap shoot at the best of times. My favourite spot is Sharkey & The Jaimes Beer Bucket, on 10th Street, between 5th & 10th Avenues, but that's just my own preference. Sorta' a funky place that can be a lot of fun, depending on what they have on in the way of entertainment. Besides, how bad can a bar be? If you're not happy...head on down the street. They don't nail your feet to the floor and there's somebody about every 20 feet in Playa that will be glad to help you quench your thirst. Good Luck!

Gregg, I'm up for "einstein" beer. My friend and I will try to head to Sharkey's for 11 pm. Look for a 5'7" gringa blanca with dark hair accompanied by an east indian chica with short hair. And if you can't find us, think of all the other ladies you'll meet!

There are loadsa great places..... Check La Rana, The Beer Bucket, Tequila Barrel all around mid 5th Ave, Blue Parrot and La Pirata on the beach and you wont go wrong nor be very thirsty (or sober!)
