I hope that if you do have a litter box in the house that you do NOT tend to it. It's a big no-no for pregnant ladies to be near that.... But I bet you already knew that, right??? And to think... you'd have to have James take care of it instead!!! ha ha |

No litter boxes here. Our cats have many alternative ways of getting in and out of the house (van roof-tree branch-balcony being one of them) and they come and go as they please. They live with us because they choose to, and we're appropiately honored, of course, as we do understand the scrutiny a mere human has to go through to be deemed suitable for cat care.

We have Baby Bear Bubba (otherwise known as "the big one" or Bob). We also have Diamond Jim Brady (otherwise known as "the little one" or Brady or Jim). These two are huge Maine Coons. Then we have Boston Blackie (otherwise know as the "little guy" or Tom.) He is a stout small bully who keeps "the big one" in line. However, Boston Blackie is a bottom dweller. He is afraid of heights and is not a very good jumper. The "big one" -- Bob just gets tired of it and jumps up on something to get away. So Boston Blackie sucker punches "the little one" (much larger than Boston Blackie) and starts to walk away...........huh uh. The mellowist of mellow little one has had it!!! BAM BAM right on the head. Boston Blackie shakes it off and stumbles away. Life goes on. We love them all.

Terry, my first cat was a Maine Coon..such a sweetie - she had the big double paws too !!! She was about 19 years old when she passed away. Very broken hearted when she died.
Took a long time before I could get another Cat, but now I have got two of them !!! ![]() |

Yes, we draw the line at three cats, too, lest I be named the Crazy Cat Lady of Albany. In addition to two fur-less children (or should I say "fur-free"?), we are parents to an orange tiger named James, and two fluffy longhairs named Willy and Willa.
They're all so friendly and affectionate, I just don't get people who say that cats are cold or unloving. |

Now I'm not feeling so bad having 3 cats! My 2 human children (now both grown & out of the house) had already started calling me the "Crazy Cat Lady" - well either that, or the "Crazy Gecko Lady" :o . I have a colony (is that what it's called
) of geckos living on my front porch. I check on them almost every night... count them, see which ones have lost a piece of their tail, watch them catch a moth, etc. You should have seen me the night one of the geckos came in the front door - the kitties thought they had company (not!). I wrestled the gecko out of Stevie's mouth, then had to chase it around the living room to catch him and put him outside with the rest of his colony-mates. He lived... but lost a tail in the fray! |
