Tappy -> The drive through liquor store didn't faze me, but the slushie style bar in the food court at the mall did. Now that is civilization.

Bumper -> I am disappointed, I figured you could do better than an old and dusty rednecked changed to southerner response.

Are You a Southerner? - Answers

Note: Some responses have been expanded upon somewhat, for the edification of us poor, ignernt Canucks, and them Damn Yankees.)

1. 7
2. 43, Red & Blue
3. Fishin’

12. Spanish moss
13. Evinrude
14. Mudfish (Also called dogfish, mud pike, blackfish, cabbage pike, spot tail, griddle., Cypress trout, speckled cat, lawyer, scaled ling and cotton fish.) 55 without looking any up. But I do have to disagree with a couple.

One is only semantics. The kings cars were blue with red stp logos.

and the smallest GM V8 block in 66 was not the 283, but the 265 found in Pontiac from 55-81. It is also still in production but is now know as a 4.3 Liter.

Good test by the way.

Can't argue with any of your points, Crit. Like I said, I managed a 68 1/2 score. More luck than good planning. The Petty question was the one where I gave myself the 1/2 point. I recalled the blue & red, but couldn't remember the number.

As for the 265, I don't know enough about it to comment on that one, but I rather suspect that particular mill wasn't around up here in Canada, or at least it doesn't sound familiar. You have to remember, Pontiacs and Chevys are the same car in Canada, just different tin and lipstick, and I think the smallest 8 in them was the 283 in that era. Great engine, in my humble opinion. As far as I'm concerned, when GM hit on the 283, and Ford on the 289, they should have stopped all further development and left well enough alone. Why screw around with perfection?

North Carolina is the home of our nation's first cultivated grape --- the scuppernong grape which is a white muscadine grape. The earliest written account of the scuppernong grape occurs in Giovanni de Verrazzano's logbook. Verrazzano was a the Florentine navigator who explored the Cape Fear River Valley for France in 1524.

North Carolina was also the nation's largest wine producing state up until Prohibition. It has only been in recent years that the number of wineries in North Carolina has come close to approaching the number of wineries prior to Prohibition. There are currently 20 wineries in North Carolina opposed to 25 wineries prior to Prohibition.

Kudzu is also rampant here in North Carolina. It's growth is definitely uncontrollable. It takes over anything in it's path including trees and buildings. The Kudzu vine can grow as much as one foot per day!

Yeah, I agree. I imagine Stephen King could have some fun with it too.
