Honeymoon In July at Aventura Spa Palace
We are goin the end of July to enjoy our honeymoon at aventura spa palace. it is our first time there we are using a time share week to stay there, but a little nervous I have heard good and bad reports on the food there. What do you think? Don't they also have exchange privlages with other sister resorts? Also can anyone tell me if they do any special activities for honeymooners? My future husband is big on diving and I like to snorkle, we are thinking about doing a trip to the ecopark for the snorkling, where is a good company to dive through? And last but not least if you were going to only one ruin which would it be?
Thanks for all of your help! |

JanChris, we've stayed there the last two years and have no complaints about the food. The breakfasts are great(made to order omlettes) with lots of choices. There's a outdoor BBQ at the south end of the resort with something different every day. With 6 different restaurants there is always a wide variety of choices.
Xpu-Ha (?sp) is a sister resort where you have full priviledges and it has a great beach (which ASP does not have). You'll love the room with the double jacuzzi. I don't know about special activities for honeymooners but do know that you will be identified with a 'pnk' bracelet so everyone will know you're on your honeymoon. Best of luck and check out our pictures online which has our last two years worth of photos. Gerald |

Tammy,
Thanks for the info. This is our first trip there so i am little confused of the geography. How far is aventura from Playa? I was wondering if these tours would pick us up. We do have 2 tours included in our package, but these sound really nice. Jan |

Go to the one in Playa del Carmen. Cancun's an hour away and you have to take a ferry to Cozumel. Playa del Carmen's a few minutes away and a really cool town. In my opinion, much better experience than Cancun. Playa feels like Mexico, Cancun feels like Miami. Here's the Web site...

JanChris...there are way better bars in Playa Del Carmen than C&C...Much cheaper too...Look in the upper right corner under the drop down box
pdc directory....You cant go wrong with any of these and will probably run into some forum folk while there....What are your dates? We Will be there July 21-27 so let us know we are planning on having a Member Meet at one of the bars!!! |

JanChris,
The wife & I celebrated our anniv. last year at ASP. It was our 1st time to Playa. We had an absoute blast. We've been to AI's in Jamaica, Dominican, & Aruba, the ASP was the best overall resort we've been to. It's a little intimidating at first since it is a rather large resort, but after a day you'll get your bearings. The pool is awesome! As for the food, we thought it was A+. Ate at almost all the restaurants & didn't have a bad or fair meal at any. Ask for the Mayan coffee! Stay on the Adventura side if you like a little more rowdy crowd, that's where we stayed (Our room was that side & we hung out in that side's poolbar as well.) The other end of the resort (Spa side) seemed a bit more subdued. We took the included Coba trip & had a very nice time. Also spent a little extra for the "Champagne Sunset Cruise & Dinner on The Beach" & felt it was worth the $. It was a sunset cruise(obviously) & then a 5 course Lobster dinner on the beach. (They offered other choices if Lobster isn't you thing). Don't worry about any bad reviews of the resort, you'll have a great honeymoon! Hargman PS We'll be celebrating our 5th anniv. at Secrets Capri 7/31-8/7. If you guys want to meet in Playa for a drink sometime over that period let me know. |
