Oil Spill??

I hate to ask this,but someone at work mentioned that they heard about an oil-spill, or something similar happening on Cozumel.

Can anyone confirm

or deny?

Did a google search for cozumel news and found that a asphalt company had a large spill that made it to the sea.

So does anybody know what the environmental impact of this asphalt company's spill was? Were coral reefs dammaged / destroyed? What about clean-up?

Cozumel my Cozumel has a couple reports on this spill--basically the asphalt made to the ocean floor and there is damage and law suits are being filed.
